Bruins Make SNEAKY Good Signing… More Moves Coming | Boston Bruins News

The Boston Bruins have made a very sneaky signing, extending one of the most interesting players in the organization. We’re going to be breaking down what this means for the remainder of the Bruins roster now, as well as going over some quotes from newly acquired Alex Steves. And a lot of fans are going to want to hear what he had to say because this is very exciting to hear from a new signing. We’re going to be breaking it all down here in this video. Before we do jump into it though, ladies and gentlemen, we’re on the road to 8K with the big goal of 10K. And your sport has been absolutely incredible as of late. Of course, we still got a lot of news coming. The Boston Marines now set to make some more moves as we know that they have to add to this offense and we’re currently sitting at 7,300 subscribers. We’re on the road 8K as I mentioned and your guys support is just genuinely insane. I appreciate everybody watching this video right now. But we got to jump straight into this one here. Starting off with the news from the Boston Bruins official exit account. The Bruins have signed John Fonaci to a one-way or sorry, a one-year two-way deal. Now, this one was the final UFA, RFA, you know, free agent, I guess, in total that the Bruins had left to sign to an NHL contract or a contract in general. Now, meaning the Bruins are free from any in-house signings and are free to go out and do what they need. However, there are a few things as well that really kind of officially confirm that the Bruins are going to be moving on in this market, and we’re going to be breaking that down here in a little bit as well. But John Ferinaci is, as I’m sure many of you guys know, one of my favorite prospects still at this point in the organization. Of course, is 24, a bit older than a lot of these other players that we still currently have in house, but I still think is one of the most highly anticipated forwards that the Bruins have in the system. And, you know, last year I was a big advocate of trying to get him up for a few games over some of these other players and get him into an NHL roster because we still have really yet to see that at a consistent pace. And I think that’s something a lot of people are also just really wanting to see. They want to see some new faces in here. And I think that’s a little bit of a concern as well that people have is that they’re trying to fix the roster inhouse rather than go out and sign some NHL players, which I completely understand as well. And I completely agree that, you know, you’re signing a lot of these minor league guys, a lot of these bottom six guys, but you have priorities elsewhere in this lineup. And the fact that they’re not challenging and tackling that right now is still a bit concerning for me. I want to finish this out this roster before we go and get ahead and sign and extend guys like John Fonacci and all these types of players that are on the brink of the NHL. But Fonacci has brought a lot to his game so far in the AHL. Of course, two years there after being the captain at Harvard in his final year. First year, you know, about half point per game. Nothing that we really didn’t expect from him, but we took a really big jump here last season. 38 points in 58 games with one goal in one game at the NHL level this year. from the third round pick from Arizona at 24 years old. He’s a player that I still think has so much potential left in his game. At this point in a lot of players careers and you’re 24 still playing in the NHL, there’s a lot of people that are always concerned about that. But when you do take a look at his career path, stayed at Harvard, went to play there a few years and jumped into the uh professional level last year uh well I guess not last season, the season before at 22 years old. So he still has not yet been a whole uh you know a careerlong AHL player at this point. He still has a lot of time left to make the NHL and he’s a player this year that I think has a serious chance of cracking this NHL roster through preseason. Of course, we do have a lot of additions down here in the bottom six. And of course, we have a kind of a brand new bottom six for the most part looking at it, but I still think Fonacci is one name among many that the Bruins have that will take a big shot at this bottom six because as we’ve been seeing that Marco Stern and Don Sweeney have been saying, nothing is given at this point. You have to earn it. And John Finaci is a player that I really think is ready to earn that move up to the NHL level. And of course, you know, if he’s not playing great, there’s no point in putting him there. But if he does, and we think that he will, I certainly think that John Fernac is a player that absolutely has been given this chance and will thrive in that opportunity. Why not give him a go? And I think that he’s he has a serious chance to make it this year. So among that, of course, this now means the Bruins have a lot of opportunities to make some more signings going throughout this now that they have the entirety of the free agency cleared in house. And as we go to take a look at the free uh the cap space, I should say, 2 million sitting around there. Not really enough to make a guy sign from a top six, but the trade market is still of course wide open. Signings kind of wind dwindling down now apart from in-house extensions. But as we do take a look, the active roster is 23 of 23. The Bruins now have the opportunity to go out, change this roster from what they have now. They have it set. If season started tomorrow, they would be there ready to go. But there are more moves being made and I think this is really the first point that we see this being ready. The Bruins wanted to get everything in house done. We’ve officially seen that with John Fonacci and I think this can almost officially confirm that we now are ready to make some more moves elsewhere throughout the NHL. And I’m very excited to see where Don Sweeney can take this to. Let’s see how this bottom six gets moved around because we know we have a lot of players down there. I’m very curious to see what kind of moves are going to be made from whether it’s going to be prospects some of these guys here. We really don’t know, but we know that something is bound to happen at some point here over the next little while through the offseason. Now, I want to pull up as well going onto our next topic, Alex Steves. Another recent addition from the Boston Bruins, another recent signing has come out and spoke out really about the Boston Bruins. Now, coming out of his tenure with the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Toronto Marlies, being a New Hampshire native, he’s someone that loves the area, loves the team, the Boston Bruins. So this is what he had to say being a kid there in school in those years when Brad Marshon really came onto the scene and they obviously had Don Char and Patrice Berseron leading the way. He said, “I’ll never forget the buzz around my school in the New Hampshire and New England area.” And this is just of course something you absolutely love to see from not just any player, but especially a local guy. You’re coming in, you’re finally getting on that team that you’ve been watching all your life come into it and it’s just a great look. But even what he had to say about his plans for this Bruins tenure is something very, very exciting. and you’re not going to want to miss this. This is what he had to say about that. I have a core belief in the vision of myself being a goal scorer in the NHL. It’s up to me really to work my butt off this summer. I think there’s an opportunity in Boston, but it’s up to me to grab a hold of that and get better this summer and be better than I was last year and bring something to the team that’s worth something. Now, of course, Alex Steves coming into this lineup after being in the Boston Bruins uh or sorry, a Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Marley system is definitely a big jump uh kind of going into the opportunity that he had. The Maple Leafs definitely have a bigger roster than the Bruins do at this point, especially now after the trade deadline last year. And he he’s correct. He has a certain big opportunity to jump into the lineup. And we do take a look at his stats. Last season, he was a phenomenal phenomenal player in the AHL. Really has not been given an opportunity yet in the NHL. Of course, the Toronto Maple Leafs, hate to say it, but they were a good team. They have their team built out. They have a lot of players are going to be sticking around in that lineup. So, it makes sense why Alex Steves didn’t get the opportunity there. But you look at his past few seasons with the AHL. He’s taking serious jumps every year. And he’s right, he can be that goal scorer and still at 25 years old, it’s definitely an interesting decision to look at what he’s going to do coming up into this roster and be given the opportunity coming into it. Because when you do take a look at him compared to this roster that the Bruins currently have, I don’t see a spot where he can’t jump in, you know, especially after given what he’s done in the AHL. Of course, he would love to earn it. He said that he has to work his butt off and you expect him to, especially coming in and being around the uh kind of schooling area where you see the buzz of this roster. That’s what a lot of people play for, especially when you’re playing for your hometown team. It’s a lot different compared to going elsewhere. and you know, you’re going to give it your all wherever you are. But I think that given this opportunity with the Boston Bruins and Providence as well, of course, Providence is going to still going to be a great team and given Alex Steves’s ability in the AHL and translating that to the NHL level, I firmly believe he could be a big goal scorer. So, I want to know what you guys think about these two uh bits of news that we have here today. First of all, Alex Steves, very excited to see him come into this and give him the opportunity to kind of work out and get into this roster, see where that ends up. as well as John Financi, a player that if you’ve been here for, you know, almost I’d say two years, do you know how excited I am about John Fonacci and want him to get into this lineup so bad, but they still have to focus on the NHL roster and I think now is the time for that. So, let me know what you think about all this news here in the comments below. That’s all I got in this video. If you did enjoy, give it a like, hit the sub button as well. I’m signing out though. Thank you for watching. Hope you have a great day. See you later.
