Owen Sound rookies stay hot
The Owen Sound Attack are among the hottest teams in the League, leapfrogging the Guelph Storm into fifth in the Western Conference and now sit just four points back of the Soo Greyhounds for home ice advantage in Round 1 of the playoffs. Owen Sound rookies Colby Barlow, Cedrick Guindon and Servac Petrovsky have combined for 79 goals this season and contributed in back-to-back wins over Sarnia on Saturday and Sunday.
Wolves on a roll
The Sudbury Wolves aren’t going away in the Eastern Conference. The Wolves took five of a possible six points on the weekend, defeating the first place Hamilton Bulldogs on Friday as NHL Draft prospect David Goyette was the overtime hero. The Wolves are three points back of Peterborough for the last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
Spitfires’ perfect week
The Spitfires had Another perfect week to push their winning streak to seven as Windsor now leads the West Division by a four-point cushion. The Spits took consecutive wins in Sault Ste. Marie, wrapping up the season series with wins in 7 of 8 against the Greyhounds. OHL scoring leader Wyatt Johnston is up to 112 points after netting his 41st of the season as the game winner on Sunday.
