Agree, Mathew’s can’t carry a line by himself- he is just a Tyler Seguin type of center, one dimensional.
Ehhhh I can't say I agree with this one. I understand where your coming from sure. Matthews is a pretty below average playmaker being a guy who consistently plays top line and top pp minutes. He also is a historically poor playoff performer. But even then I can't say no to a proven 60+ goal 100+ point two way center. The upside is just too high for me to say no to, and even then with the poor playoff record he still historically produces at the same rate in the post season as Suzuki offensively. Maybe if Suzuki hits 95+ points and 60 assists next year with a top 10 Selkie year, and leads the Habs to the playoffs again along with Matthews having like a 40 goal 80 point year where he loses in the first round and underperforms, I'll take Suzuki then. But I need more time for sure to make that takr
