Knoblauch didn't trust Jeff Skinner, doubt he trusts Howard for the first 2 years. Expect 10-12 minutes per game.
Oilers fans need to be calm this upcoming season. The 2025/2026 won't be a cup run. The Oilers will make the playoffs and maybe go a few rounds, but I feel like management is setting up the team for a season from now. This year will be all about giving Savoie and Howard time to develop, the Oilers finding a way to move Nurse's contract to open cap space, the Oilers finding a way to extend Walman, Ekholm, and Kulak, and finding an average to above-average NHL starting goalie. I have liked what the Oilers have done so far this summer. They are getting younger, faster and more skilled.
The oilers had some really good young talent over the last few years but traded them or lost them in FA or in offer sheets. Notsure if the coach or management doesn't like young guys joining the team or whatever it is but somethings up with not keeping the young guys but instead keeping old guys that can't barely keep up with today's speed

You'd pull Podz for this guy? lol. Maybe this kid, who's never played a minute in the NHL can make the team now. But Dria couldn't. Neither can about 95% of players who go on to make the NHL. Oilers and their rabid fans sure love to Rush players in far to early, then spend 2 yrs making excuses for them, and then turning on them and demanding they be run out of town.

Hobby Baker award carries some pretty impressive blood lines, Eichel, Cellebrini, etc Ike Howard has remarkable potential if utilized properly.
They lost for a simple reason. The other team scored more goals.
Unless they plug the holes in the rear end (we know who they are), it'll continue the same way.
