It will probably be the same story in the 2025-26 season( maybe not the president trophy winner’s), but have a great season. However, The Jets will probably over play Hellebuyck during the regular season AGAIN and come playoff time, would be drained from a long season in net. Which means another early round exit
Pacing yourself in a game in important. First time I played pick-up soccer (in this case 3-3) I was running around like it was a championship and after 10 minutes collapsed on the field. They came over and told me to tone it back and I'll be fine. Embarrassing.

I would love it if the Jets followed Florida's path and won the cup following the president's trophy, but now that the Panthers are in this position and are this much of a wagonI wouldn't mind seeing them become a legit dynasty. I never thought that type of thing would happen again in this salary cap era and it would be so legendary. I would like to see Marchand collect as much cups as he can. Heck, my team the Red Wings might not even make the playoffs again, for the 10th year in a row in the Franchises 100th year. The team is a mess. After I watched them win 4 cups in 11 years. Some of the best dominance I've seen in my lifetime was that Era of Detroit….
There are some talented hockey players who are destined by the Hockey Gods and Lady Luck to NEVER be on a Stanley Cup winning team…..there is a very long list of these players who have sensational regular seasons and perhaps even the playoffs BUT can't win in the Stanley Cup Finals. It's a team sport and the playoffs last 3 months playing at a much higher level than in the regular season.
So much has to go right to win it all.
If Vilardi stays healthy, the old Toews is 75% as productive as the young Toews, and Lowry comes back before Christmas the regular season should be no problem again. If Hellebuyk and the boys continue their road playoff yips then next summer will be a very long one. This might be the last chance for the Jets as the Sheifele, Hellebuyk era could be closing fast.
as a massive Jets fan, I am fine if the Jets continue as an underrated team and place to play. Many moaned and complained in the off season last year that the Jets didn't do anything flashy enough, and we had a stellar year. We do need to give Hellebuyck some relief in goal- maybe play 50 games instead of 60+ so he's fresh for the playoffs. Losing Ehlers is still devastating. He was loved here and will be missed, but prospects are withering away in the AHL when they need to be given a chance on the big stage. We'll see how training camp goes this year!

How long is Lowry out and how does he perform upon return?
How well does Toews perform?
Can they figure out and fix whatever it is that causes them to fall apart in the post season?
It indicates that the Jets know how to win regular season games and with a similar type roster as last year will most likely make the playoffs again. It doesn't indicate a breakthrough is necessarily coming. Adding players that have won the cup before helps. Adding some grit helps. The Jets definitely still need what they have needed for many years – a 2nd line center. Winnipeg is hoping Toews can be that 2nd line center the Jets have needed for many years. I would be more inclined to believe the Jets can run with their current roster until the TDL. At that point you have decided on whether or not Lowry or Toews or maybe even Perfetti or Vilardi drops down to line 2 to be the center are the 2nd line center. If not, they will need again to make the acquisition they have needed since Bryan Little.

Losing Ehlers might be a HUGE issue, or it may not. They likely won't know until the middle of the season
Barron is poised to have a great year, if the end of last year was any indication. He's fast and physical.
Hellebuyck needs to play a few less games, for sure. If he can have the form he had in the last few games of the Dallas series, they'll go farther next year. You could see a change in him after game 3 – the brash bravado was gone.
Next season is likely to be a bit of a roller coaster as the Jets adjust.
Sore after street hockey, I've been there. I played it on vacation after a few decades of not handling a hockey stick. I could barely walk the next day 😂
I think the jets need to give lambert, yager, barlow and chibrikov a chance this year

Jets have hauled around 3-4 extra bodies on the back end for 2 years now. Chevy can never make a decision and cut bait when a player still has some value. I assume 2 of these D will get waived this year.
You could do an entire segment on the drafting , playing, waiving and recycling of Comrie. We are stuck with this Chucky look-a-like. He even gave a propaganda heavy welcome to our 1st Draft Pick. He isn’t going anywhere.
We need a 2C and top RHD. DeMelo’s play is not keeping up with top pair minutes. I wish we could move some Prospects, Picks and Depth for Mason McTavish or Rakell or Robertson. We need some scoring!
