Jack Thompson has been re-signed by the San Jose Sharks to a one-year, two-way deal worth $800k. Thompson should be fighting for an NHL job, but could start the season on the San Jose Barracuda to continue his development.

  1. I like this deal but I do wish we did a two year because he still is a solid ahl player with 7th d potential but I like this it shows this is his year to prove something

  2. I’d rather keep him on the roster… and risk losing a guy like Liljegren or Desharnais! I believe this kid the way he walks the line, with his edge, work and skating ability is incredible and he’s the future! I am 100% positive that someone will scoop him up on waivers if he is dropped. Because of his ceiling and the unknown where he could go, that’s why I’m ready to risk one of the other two guys who are relatively well known, and we know what they’re ceiling will be most likely.

  3. I’m really high on Thompson. I think he’s gonna grow into a solid 2nd pair guy. Won’t have a stand out skill but will do everything very well. Can score. Him and Pohlkamp could be fierce on the right side. If we landed Verhoeff we could be set
