Have you ever lived in Ft. Lauderdale / South FL. It's a paradise. Where do you want to work? Are the teams that are likely to pay the most including long underware? That would push me over the edge, because who wants to lay on the beach in January?
The only team? Lol. Tampa has been doing it for years. Kuch is only getting 9.5 mil. Hedman 7, Point 9.5 mil, Hedmen 8 million. Hagel 6 million. The whole team. Same for the Panthers.
How about they want to win? They want to go for 3 or 4 cups in a row. They love the lifestyle and not worry about the 7th defensemen being questioned about a preseason loss while at dinner with his wife. I bet Barkov, Bennett, Marchand and Tkachuk can go to the beach anytime they want together and most people wouldn’t even notice and no one would care. Great place to live. Lots of things to do, great schools, great shopping, Happy wife = happy life. Plus, sure no taxes are an added bonus but in terms of importance it isn’t in the top 5-10 reasons to stay there. Name one thing a Canadian team could offer that is better than what Florida can offer, except history (all those cups before most of these guys were even born). The difference between a historic franchise and a great franchise. A historic franchise hasn’t done anything for a long time
