  1. Bil LaForge is the son of late former Canucks coach Bill LaForge. Thankfully not as extreme and intense as his father was as a coach.

  2. When it comes to players like Cootes with his skills, work ethic and leadership, I can't help but think of guys like Bryan Trottier and Doug Gilmour. And he's not just Canadian, he's Irish-Western Canadian -> the Big Irishman was watching from Hockey Heaven.

  3. Wait a minute — so, if you need a centre in the draft you can just be patient at your pick and let a really good centre be there and draft him? Someone needs to tell Daniel Briere; he needed a centre just as badly but spent his #6 overall pick taking their 6th RW and then panicked and gave two first round picks to trade up 10 spots to draft a guy who wouldn't even have been a good pick at their original spot.

  4. His dad made the Canucks run with full equipment, minus skates around the hastings Renfrew PNE . The team responded by tanking until he was fired. Quite a character of Canucks lore
