I think Edvinsson will crack 10 goals this year.
A much better coaching staff the entire year is also not nothing. And better goal tending reduces the losing streaks and the team becoming demoralized from blow out losses. Also some of the talent is so young every year they can get better by just getting stronger and tougher and more difficult to push them around

Yeah I highly doubt they make the playoffs. The team is mid even with Gibson in net. The only way they make the playoffs is if Todd McLellan coaches so well he wins coach of the year.
So I guess I am the only one that remembers when we went on 2 7 game winning streaks and were not a FRINGE TEAM but actually were in a playoff spot????? THAT WASN'T 10 GAMES IN PEOPLE!!!! Then what happened???? A couple of key injuries and the mid season tournament. Injuries count. You got better in goal and your youth will be better and a full season of a more experienced coach which should improve the head scratching worst penalty kill in history equals PLAYOFFS

I wouldve like Bergers being traded for any draft pick. His upside was alright but he compete out of the offensive zone was near existent. Everyone tolerates Kane doing this, Bergers isnt Kane.
No. Detroits only meaningful addition was an upgrade in goal while not addressing an awful d core (no, JBD is not a difference maker). Ottawa, Montreal, NYR, NJD and Washington are all better teams. Sad to say but this is probably the most mediocre team in the NHL.

This can be a playoff team if certain things happen. We need at least a couple of the young guys to show significant growth, we need the ufa's to be more than just marginal upgrades over the guys they're replacing, and we need Gibson to be a legit 1a goalie
