Connor Bedard and NEW ERA of Blackhawks Hockey | Blackhawks Breakaway

On the latest episode of the Blackhawks Breakaway Podcast, Pat Boyle and Charlie Roumeliotis are joined by Bleacher Nationโ€™s Tab Bamford to discuss his new book, “The Future: Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawksโ€™ New Era.” Tab dives into Bedardโ€™s development from Year 1 to Year 2, his revamped offseason training, and what it could mean for Year 3. He also shares what it was like writing a book in real time during Bedardโ€™s rookie season, the behind-the-scenes insights he picked up along the way, and more. The guys also break down the state of the rebuild and when the Blackhawks could realistically return to playoff contention.

  1. Nothing left for Korchinski to do in the WHL you say. He was a third team CHL All-Star in juniors and played bottom pairing minutes on the World Junior Canadian team. How about going back to juniors and making first team CHL All-Stars and then playing top pairing minutes on the World Junior team?

  2. would love to see the hawks go after alexander holtz, also from djurgardens, currently on vegas' roster (rfa). imo holtz is an attractive change of scenary candidate (lottery ticket) w/ top 6 potential and could fit in well w/ the hawks rebuild if given a fresh start. plus, w/ vegas being up against the cap, holtz probably wouldn't cost much to acquire either.

  3. Re: draft @ 19 years old. Interesting scenario to consider but it will never happen due to there then needing to be a year where there is no draft! You're not going to get lottery teams on board with that.
