  1. In the 1950-60s someone did it Glenn Miller bio pic ,they could play the notes perfectly, they didn't have the right bounce or swing or something, had to ask some of the old retired guys, how did you do this, they found the right sound

  2. My father in law had Alzheimer's,wheelchair , couldn't talk anymore, doing well,I put this stuff on , lit right up , big smile

  3. As I understand it, Miller was supposed to have all military music at a group inspection, then Miller unexpectedly redirected the marching band to play this song. His commanding officer was aghast, for embarrassing him in front of this general, but the general loved it, thinking it was great for the soldiers' morale. Then arrangements were made to gather all of Miller's musicians who had entered military service so they could continue to serve boosting military morale.

  4. The St. Louis Blues was an average U.S. Army march until Army Air Force Captain Glenn Miller proudly passed in review.

Weeks after bravely completing the Star Spangled Banner outdoors in London during a nazi air bombardment, Captain Miller presented his Army Air Force band to a group of dignitaries and general staff withe true ESPRIT D'CORPS. He rewrote and took the relatively bland St. Louis Blues march to another level with the legendary Glenn Miller style and a generous infusion of jazz.

His patriotism was instrumental in raising troop moral and defeating nazi Germany.

    GOD BLESS CAPTAIN GLENN MILLER

  5. I had a bass trombone solo on this back in high school. It was a heck of a thrill, just myself with my bass trombone affectionately named Champion, which is still on active duty, almost seventeen years old, going strong. I currently have three Large Bore Tenor Trombones Three Bass Trombones with several other trombones in the works.

  6. It's so sad to know that Glenn Miller passed away too soon. He could have come up with a lot more amazing works.
