The Montreal Canadiens are to have 2 Power Play units that can dominate. Lane Hutson and Noah Dobson are the perfect quarterbacks on the point, and rookie sensation Ivan Demidov brings elite offensive skill. Combine that with stars like Cole Caufield, Patrik Laine, Nick Suzuki, and Juraj Slafkovský, and you’ve got 2 power play lines that could get it done. They now have so many options. That internal competition could push this young Habs team to another level.

  1. well habs have a problem still the contract of P.laine.He is good on power play but that is too expensive and habs may have to tolerate the next season unless Laine shows big changes in his 5 on 5 game ? what team will want to take laine at 8 million plus??? habs wikll have to keep part of that big contract unless?? some sort of trade witha prospect can be done? habs cannot sign them all?

  2. I’d put Bolduc on the first PP, I think beside Laine and Caufield, Bolduc has the third best shot of the habs and can do a better job on the bumper than Slafkovsky, and dangerously more physical. I’d shift Slafkovsky on the 2nd PP with Dach (Only if he’s gotten better) and if not keep Newhook there.

  3. Too predictable and one dimensional. So everyone lines up on the perimeter and if no shot from the same spot all the time which is where Laine and Cole line up then they try and FORCE a pass across the middle that 99% never works or amounts to anything. This is where the coach SHOULD come in teach them to keep it simple less predictable by getting shots to the net and bodies to the net and they will open up teams to that favorite COLE/Laine left corner one timer.
However this again si whre any competent coach would come in every single player can score no need to be one dimensional to the one timer all players need to understand is that 90% of the tiem goalies just go down so from anywhere just one tiem a shot to the upper 6 inches and it's a goal no need to waste time on the perimeter.

  4. Patrick Laine: let's hope he a.) stays healthy and his knee is 100% b.) gets more involved in gameplay… same thing goes for Dach who looks like a sleepy head out there sometimes…

  5. I'm stating right now to all the Haters Laine will score 40 this year if he is on PP 1
