I'm not a fan of either of these teams, but this is definitely one of the best SCF series I've watched, since I became a hockey fan some…15 years ago lol.
Also, as a Kings fan, I can wholeheartedly say, the Oilers are a really good team, and their depth has improved. Those who still think they're a 2 players team aren't paying attention, or they're just in denial and want to hate the Oilers simply for having the best two forwards in the league.

I want to talk about teams not going for the empty net very aggressively. It's bit A LOT of teams in this playoffs. Being passive with an empty net and just shooting it down, icing the puck. The Kings definitely did it. And in this final, both teams have done it. People were confused about Gretzky calling that out…but he's not wrong.

I see everyone calling the hit on Bouchard either Boarding or Charging but how is nobody saying it's Checking From Behind?
I stopped watching at 3-0 FLA… I was like "I can tell where this is going".
Then looked at my phone an hour later and saw 4-3 EDM, and couldn't believe it. 😀

Wild fan here but props to these 2 teams. Both are absolute juggernauts. AND as a Finn i should be on floridas side but id like to see connor and leon get that ring 😅
Contrary to the narrative, Skinner was good in this game. Unfortunately, he needed to be fantastic.
I guess we have ourselves a tight series. Unpredictable after what has been showed so far of what each team is capable of. Except for game 3 was a mess for the Oilers.
My favorite moment was when the crowd changed "Ref you suck" on a delay of game penalty. Bunch of high IQ people in the crowd apparently.

I am a lifetime Redwings fan and I'm loving this final because I don't care who wins. I'm going to start with an Yzerman story but I'm coming back. So, I'm watching this game late in the season. The Redwings have already locked up the President's trophy. They are ahead 4-1 late in the game and they almost got another goal. The camera follows the players back to the bench. Yzerman takes a drink then taps Fedorov on the shoulder and starts drawing on his hand. That's what I'm loving every player's intensity level is where Yzerman's was when it didn't even matter.
Shannon, I feel the same way you do about people calling Edmonton a team with no goaltenders. I sometimes watch The Hockey News and one of the analysts always makes sure to remind everybody that Edmonton has no goalie and can't go far in the playoffs. Every playoff series Edmonton wins, no matter how well Edmonton's goalie is he'll say it's not going to happen the Oilers cannot win without a goalie. I don't follow The Oilers like the Hockey News, but if they made it this far I'm sure the goalie can't be that bad for Edmonton. It's annoying when people never give credit where credit is due.

Panthers fans definitely don't think the Oilers are only two players with no goalie. That must be coming from fans of other teams. We are well aware of how good the Oilers are, including their goalies.
I already knew the oilers were probably still going to win down by 3 because their odds on the money line came down before the game on our nz market
Yet people are STILL calling Connor McDouchey the ‘best player alive’. He CLEARLY is NOT. The best player alive, active player alive, is Nate MacKinnon. The ‘best’ player, can not be shut down by a single defenseman, PERIOD. Gustav Forsling shut him down this entire series. There is not a single player alive that can shut down MacKinnon alone. When MacKinnon puts it in that next gear, NOBODY can stop him alone, nobody. He COMMANDS respect and an entirely different defensive system to stop him. McDavid can be shut down with a single player. Forsling proved this all series. Nate will scate through the entire team, Connor can’t. He is good, don’t get me wrong, but the best player in the game doesn’t score one single goal in a series…period. They would NOT have been able to shut Nate down like they shut down BOTH McDavid AND Draisaitl. Wouldn’t have happened. But that being said, Florida made Edmonton look like a minor league team. Florida outclassed, and outplayed them in every aspect of the game, almost every minute of every game…ALMOST. Panthers were on a whole other level…by far a better team all around, top to bottom. Florida is scary. They DESERVE the cup…they earned it. Florida is a top level team from the owner, all the way to the lowest level team member. What an awesome organization, happy for them. They deserve this cup, and the last one. I have a feeling they are going to be a top dog for many years. I’d hate to play against them. Panthers are LEGIT in every way. Especially the GM, that dude deserves a raise. Bill Zito is a STUD, as is Paul Maurice…those dudes deserve this. And you can feel free to argue with my comment, but I will not be back to argue with anyone. McDavid is NOT the best player in the NHL. I’d even argue not in the top three.
