Karlson is too small and short-term a gain to warrant giving up anything that might be even the smallest of values a year or two from now.
It is just stunning but not surprising to hear these Red Wings fans b*tch about the shortcomings of Karlson when the team hasnt made the playoffs in 9 years. I heard the exact same nonsense about Kane before he signed. Every decade it seems Detroit fans sound more like NYers.

Take the whole 10 and give less or they keep cap and you give up too much. I would rather see wait and see youth move up, what's another 3 years?
