  1. Could care less if he's in the Calder running. But it'd be good if he has a respectable rookie season. Not really interested in seeing him getting 50 games. Maybe 40+.

As for the Skarek, have an interest in seeing Matt Davis get a shot. He's smaller and a bit older for getting his first shot, but he's also a NCAA champion and he's been good iin is NCAA days. He was also really good at the prospects game and while that isn't a great forum for evaluating players, its really bad forum for goalies since its 4v4 and 3v3. And I think he gave up just 1 goal

  2. I have a small concern about Askarov, and I don't understand exactly what is going on with it, but let me explain and maybe others can cast light on it. I saw him twice last year in Colorado playing against the Eagles, and the second time was in the playoffs. I believe the game was tied and he left the game with around 2 minutes left and either Carriere or Romanov(I can't remember) came in and gave up the game winning goal. It was stated he had cramps, but it must have been a terrible cramp, because I know that with a playoff game on the line, I ain't coming out with 2 minutes left in a tied game. I've had calf cramps in basketball and fought through until the game was over. So what I am wondering is where is his heart? We know he is supposed to be super competitive, but I felt like he wasn't all in. I never heard a press conference of him or anyone talking about it, but I thought it was a bit strange, and it left me with a weird feeling about his character. Can anyone speak to this or did anyone glean any more info on this than I was able to find? Maybe being a goalie and having to crouch almost the whole time put him in a position where that cramp was constantly flaring and he couldn't maintain his stance. That I would understand. It just was terrible timing, because we immediately lost the game after that.
