Kaapo Kahkonen is one of those Goalies that just never was given the chance to show he can be the starting G on a serious team. He is SEVERELY underrated. Coming from San Jose he was playing mostly every game and taking over 50 shots a night on the worst team in the league. In that position, facing that much nightly, he kept his save percentage at an amazingly respectable number. When he was moved to NJ he was just a bench rider for Allen but when he was given a chance oddly enough he was thrown to the wolves (2 games against the Rangers, Isles, Pens) but what I witnessed was a flash of brilliance. His eyes are noticed during live play, that’s how focused he gets. With a somewhat strong D in front of him, this guy is STILL Gold!
