  1. Have his leafs jersey and one of my favorite players. But in reality he's old and can't help the leafs move forward. Hope he reaches his 1000 game goal.

  2. Incredible they got out of that contract, his skill set and speed make him unplayable at an AHL level. He was washed four years ago.

  3. Not sure how this helps the cap situation. Barley saving any money…..

This must be Tre doing a solid for Reavo. Makes sense for the sharks, someone around to protect the young guys.

Thrun or Benoit ? I see waivers in the future and onto the Marlies.

  4. So, Ryan Reaves is on the move again ,eh? I remember him from his time with the Blues, he was a good 4th line guy with size and willing to do the dirty work in the corners and on the boards. Best of luck to him in San Jose.

  5. Well, you know I like Ryan Reeves because he was physical, but you know you gotta these days you can’t be just go and you gotta be able to play the game and if your foot speed is slow slower then that’s a bit of a problem and besides that if you move the Reeves contract, you get even more room room and I don’t think Brad tree living is done

  6. The Leafs save a few $$$ and get younger , a wash trade imo , hey at least they have a D guy they can try out here and there when needed .

  7. All Ryan Reaves could ever do was fight. He wasn't even intimidating anyone anymore because he was too slow to finish checks. Top it off with only one fight all season (when he was dummied by Mathieu Olivier) and he was clearly dead weight for the Leafs. It was even worse when he started mouthing off in the press about feeling ready to compete and play regularly while wondering aloud why he wasn't in the lineup.

Only in Ryan's wildest dreams is he still an NHL hockey player, and this goes back to his time on the Rangers.

Henry Thrun coming back is better than having to give up an asset to move the small part of Reave's salary that couldn't be buried, so a tidy but largely irrelevant piece of work by treliving. Henry will be in the Marlie D rotation next year.

  8. This is a goddess awful HORRIBLE TRADE for SJ. I DESPISE Ryan Reeves. I am a DIEHARD Sharks fan buy I will NOT be watching one single second of next season, until Reeves is NO LONGER WEARING TEAL. I HATE THIS TRADE

  9. It’s nice to have a hitter on the Sharks, but Reaves is washed. I guess he can protect younger talent, but he also takes up a spot from better talent.

  10. I like this trade. Sure, I would have preferred a 28 yr old Reaves. But SJ currently has too many (8) defenseman on the roster and Henry Thrun became the odd man out. And also, I believe that rookie Sam Dickinson will be given an opportunity to play for the Sharks this season, thus, roster space needed to be made. For those who feel that enforcers are outdated and don't deserve a spot on the roster, as long as there is a code in hockey that the opponent must pay for a big check or dirty hit, especially on skilled players, the gloves WILL drop. Now SJ finally has someone who knows how to fight.

  11. Finally, some earth shattering news. Families will be gathered around the table this evening discussing this trade. I’m not sure I can concentrate on work. I pray for everyone out there dealing with the shock of waking up to this.
