  1. 16 just another bottom liner signed. No biggie. Can't have this big culture change with lazy ass 18 and 11 still on roster. Isles are stuck with 18 until next expansion draft, 11 two more years. The louzer gifts that will keep giving.
And i looked at the shabanov highlights. Dude has some major talent. Fast, skilled, can bury it, can skate thru holes and score. Now can that translate on smaller no. america ice against bigger nhl d men? Just a wait and see process now.

  2. Roy is a leader in speaking to DuClair in person. But BOO FREAKIN HOO for Anthony DuClair if he can’t take criticism. He is a grown man being paid to do a job. It seems to me injuries weren’t as much a part of his play. The coach had to know more about his condition than the fans and had the player been seriously injured the coach probably wouldn’t have been so public with criticizing the player.

  3. you go darche. keep signing a bunch of 5-10 g guys. 7, 11 g's. 16, lucky to get 5 g's. drouin, 11 g's. heileman, 10 g's. shabanov at least scored 22 g's-in khl. For fks sake why does offense continue to be the stinking armpit of isles? Still looks like a louzer loaded bunch of bottom liners roster.

  4. Good 🌄, Gil. How are you? The Islanders signed Mark Gatcomb to a one year deal at $900K. He can get physical and he can put the puck in the net. He's perfect for an identity line.
Maxim Tsyplakov went to the arbitration route. He's a big guy who can also get physical. Mathilde Darche is being smart, and he's patient, too. The Islanders had been criticized for having a country club type atmosphere because the players were too settled on the roster. Now, if the players want a spot on the roster, THEY'VE GOT TO EARN IT. Matthew Barzal is moving back to the center position where he belongs. Patrick Roy said that he called out Anthony DuClair for his performance. He wants to talk to him in person. He still wants to make amends with DuClair. Patrick Roy was sporting a beard, and so was Kyle McClain. I hope Matheiu Darche lifts the ban on the facial hair, WHETHER THE ISLANDERS MAKE THE PLAYOFFS OR NOT. HAPPY 🎂, ANDERS KALLUR. He was there for the 4 Stanley Cup years, even though he missed out on the 1st year. He scored a hat trick in a win over the Nordiques. Bonus game. Game 1 of the 1981 Finals against MN. He scored 2 goals, one of them being a shorty in the win over the North 🌟. Hear from you later, Gil. I'm going to ⌚️ that particular game today. Now, LET'S GO ISLANDERS

  5. So happy all are really locked up and perhaps Sippy signs before he gets to his hearing. 16 forwards at least 2 or 3 must Go,, My bye bye guys Duclair, Engvall, Kyle McLean . If we retain 1 million would a team take Engvall! Yes love ❤️ that Heineman, Zeeks, Gatcomb. For the 4 th line. All Sippy has to do is point to Engvall and his 3 million and then you have to say Sippy is certainly worth 3 million! Even Sippy to Duclair….we need to deal off 2 forwards minimum…. Trade or waive! Excited for camp ! Hopefully everyone can stay healthy 🙏

  6. We really need the contribution of Anthony Duclair, a potential 25-plus goal scorer. We need point production. Hope Patrick and Darche can smooth this out. LGI

  7. Enjoying offseason love the competition agree on most ur pojnts only problem duclair quit on team things get tough he runs away not a player u want in ur clubhouse

  8. Gil this guy DuClair NEVER had a game, he has been on half the teams in the league, he stinks…I would tell him over the phone, f. .off, go play little league

  9. Good morning team! Gil, these are really good things happening for the team. I'm glad Gatcomb got this contract, and it will be fun to see him in the lineup on a regular basis. As for Tsyplakov, I'd love to see him on the team as well. Having said that, it's not good enough to just like a player. What is that player doing on the ice? I want everyone to pull their weight, at bare minimum. We're entering a new era and I hope my favorites will be there, but if they are not, then oh well. My whole thing on Duclair is, a player is given criticism when it is deserved. If you can't handle the criticism, you have one of two choices. Either don't do anything to give Roy a reason to criticize you or, suck it up and take the criticism, and make sure you don't do the thing that you are being criticized for again. On a different note, the Blue and White scrimmage game have been fun. It's nice to see excitement from the fans in attendance. Everyone, have a great day! See you all again tomorrow. Until then.. Let's Go Islanders!!

  10. Like Gatcomb. Big physical guys are what this powder puff team needs. I don't care so much about points. We need an attitude! As for Duclair, he got chewed out by a coach who knows him for years! He quit on his team. As far as I'm concerned, he's poison. You don't bag your teammates during a difficult year, when you need unity. Sippy must be drunk. He lucky to be in the show. A false sense of self worth. Again I say this from the heart, I lose with you I'll without you.

  11. If half the depth guys Darche signed work out, and there are no LTIR's, this team will be 15 pts better than last year. If Duc and Engvall play well, add another 6 pts.
Darche has improved both the NHL and AHL teams in just a few weeks on the job. The fresh picks make the AHL team better than last year. Throw in the depth signings who get sent down and they will be a solid playoff team.
I have no doubt these Isles will make the playoffs. All the roster competition will make the big club better, but we could lose some to waivers on roster day. Either way, we'll have a bit of cap space accrued to make a big deadline acquisition IF we are a serious threat. My BIG concern is the lack of SOLID goalie depth. We can't keep over working Sorokin. We should say some prayers Varly comes back strong and remains healthy.

  12. Gm Gil. I don’t know how you did it these last several years but ty. Have you you seen the LA trades? Omg we dodged a bullet. Can you imagine going from Lou to Holland rn? We’d be going to UBS with shovels to give it a proper burial. As far as today’s video topic, does this mean he prob won’t be calling up a few prospects to give a them a few games under their belt? Now would be a gd time if we aren’t a cup team. Let them learn and make mistakes now.

  13. Competition is good Gill when coached properly (containg fights etc) steel sharpens steel let the cream rise to the top and the rest get better while waiting there turn..👍🏽

  14. Hey Gil. I maintain Sippy was on the way to becoming a power forward but then after that suspension, he wasn’t the same. I think he thought, what is my game now? McLean has regressed under Roy. He was good in the playoffs against the Canes. You make a great point. They would go out on the ice and look disinterested either early or late, but then they would play hard and beat Edmonton or Florida or Toronto. Hope Duke can come back. The smarts is what they missed. The little chipped passes. Knowing when to go to the net. Camp will be quite a battle. Camp starts Sept 19th long way off.

  15. Good Vid. Kallur had a lot of talent. But injuries and age took their toll. He is one of the all time leaders in Islander shorthanded goals.

  16. I like almost all of Darche's moves so far. The problem is if Sorokin gets hurt the season is over. Varley isn't getting any younger and we need a decent backup so Sorokin doesn't have to play 65 games.

  17. I like what we're doing. We fired the horrible assistant coaches and the new ones are much better and have impressive resumes to back it up. It's a better direction under Darche than Lou. Lou would have resigned everyone and traded the 1st round pick. I was glad to see Dobson go especially for two 1st round picks and a young forward. Drouin is a good pick up. But other than a few new forwards we're essentially the same team…I'm really concerned about the defense. Roy said he feels confident in them but we only have six guys as of now. It would have been nice to pick up guys like Orlov & Burns for depth or anyone else. Do they really think Schaefer & Aitcheson are going to make the roster this coming season? Even if they do, they'll be growing pains. Getting back to Roy, am I the only one that felt he might have been just a tad disappointed with what they did? I wasn't convinced by his responses. lol Also, I understand the Rittich signing as insurance in case Varly isn't ready but why not just go out and get a young capable goalie who can be sent down if needed and provide depth in Bridgeport (soon to be Hamilton by reports) like Devon Levi? The kid was outstanding for Rochester and could be a good backup too. Rittich cannot carry a team if Sorokin were to get hurt. Then again maybe our goalie coach sees something. Gil, help make sense of all this! You're the best. Despite my concerns, I feel more hopeful that Darche will get this team back into contention again.

  18. Hi Gil! What a whirlwind of great signings! Out of nowhere, we have a future and a decent possible playoff team. Free up Lee and Pageau money and go after Kaprisov next July 1st! He single handedly tore up the VGN in the 1st round. The kid is a superstar in the making! Getting rid of those two contracts and getting assets is a must. Teams may be less inclined to trade their number 1’s with the upcoming deep draft but if ya feel you can win—-never know. Gil I have a very simple question—-who will enforce this team? We know what happened last year. Who will enforce this team? Ya wanna play rough, ya gotta drop them. Who? Gat? He did not come off that way last year. Heineman? I could not find not one you tube fight on the kid. One beat down on either of those two changes that 4th line complexion. I don’t want to see it. Make me happy my new GM—gotta get a tough dude sooner than later. Take care Gil! Never Say Die!!

  19. Engvall and MacLean both need to go DFA or trade. Duclair is on the bubble he is soft and walked away from his team. He has played on so many teams for a reason. A quitter. I would not miss him if he were gone. Over valued dump him.

  20. I am thinking people are making a bigger thing about the Roy/Duclair incident bigger than it is. If it was that big, Duclair would be out of here already. They have a long history together, too. Also, Roy would have gone to see him sooner.

  21. It would be a God send if we're somehow able to move Engval, Duclair, Lee and Pageau. The latter two to open up $12 million, the former two to open up spots in the lineup for players who are actually productive. I'm bothered by the fact that Maclean is still on the roster but, chris lamoriello, and many of lou's holdovers are also still working in the organization how much of a house cleaning did we actually get aside from bringing in Darche? Any word on the kid Howard?
