  1. Why was my first thought that Reavo is going to have so much fun vibing with and hyping up all the kids on SJS.

  2. "Reaves: An era that went exactly how everyone pretty much expected it to go…"
Seriously, spending $1.35m aav for 3 years on an emotional support bench warmer was pure idiocy.

  3. Speaking of Dunn. I wonder if he's available 😂. He's on my potential surprise trade list

  4. Only Steve can gaslit Leafs fans thinking a trade is great for the team. Stop bringing up college stats when Thrun played in the NHL for 4 years. There should be a statute of limitation on bringing up amateur stats after being in the pros for 3 years. Sharks fans have been saying how Thrun is a dumpster fire but Dangle thinks he's good

  5. Considering Reaves should’ve dropped the gloves WAY more than he did. At the same time, if I’m any of the 31 other GM, I wouldn’t have helped Toronto in this case. Reaves was Trelivings problem, and he should’ve deal with it until the end.

This will go down in the list of one of the worst beliefs signings. Along with Clarkson, Zaitsev, Marleau, even the new guy in Pezzetta.

  6. Leafs dump a non roster player for someone that is maybe a depth 7D player that can pop into the lineup or play for the marlies

  7. Ok so maybe a crazy thought does Reilly become the top 6 FWD theyre missing and you shuffle the Dcore upwards
    Tanev McCabe
    Oel -Carlo
    Benoit -Mermis, Thrun,etc

  8. Never liked him, really couldn’t stand him when he initiated/participated in that gay blm nhl movement crying about being othered by white hockey players. My ass! Perpetually a victim.

  9. Xhekaj definitely lost the fight to Olivier, but to say he got worked is a bit much imo.

  10. Hey, Steve. I think it may be a fun little feature to add in to trade videos, a brief speculation as to how you think the deal went down behind the scenes.
Like who approached who first. How the conversation could have gone, etc.
Maybe a quick role play of the GMs. B’oh.
    Just a thought.
    🤘

  11. Reaves should have dressed in game 3 or 4 against Florida, to take care of Bennett, if Toronto had injured and knocked out Bob the goalie I guarantee Florida would have totally bigtime gone after the Toronto player that did that. Leafs are still soft but tougher than the Keefe Leafs, but they blew their chance for retribution. Conn S the old Leafs GM and owner knew this, “ if you can’t beat them in the alley you can’t beat them on the ice.

  12. Good trade for the Sharks. They're not gonna be good, and Reaves is a good vibes guy for the locker room and you need enforcers on the bench to stick up for the young guys. Reaves' contract can almost entirely be buried in the minors if it goes REALLY badly, and the price was a depth defenseman that probably wasn't gonna factor into the Sharks rebuild. Solid minor move for both teams.

  13. People can shit talk the Leafs and they deserve a lot of it. But these little deals they are making this off season are nothing short of sorcery. Macelli for a 3rd, Marner who was leaving anyway for Roy, and now this absolute robbery with San Jose! I'm not saying they fixed their peoblems and are going further in the playoffs but you gotta give Treeliving credit where credit is due.

  14. I wish Steve talked about how this might set up the team to move off a big defencman for a top 6 winger. Although I personally wouldn’t do this until the trade deadline and would just wait to see if the leafs can cook with this current lineup with all the risks involved (mainly Macchelli), it is worth considering that Thrun is quite young and could develop similarly to Simon Benoit, thus allowing the d core to take a hit for the offence to be bolstered. But again, only take this approach if the forward group doesn’t work out. But tbh, the forward arrangements Steve and Adam came up with on SDPN yesterday are very reassuring. Maybe it’s not as urgent a need as one might think:

    Knies Matthews Domi
    Macchelli Tavares Nylander
    McMann Roy Laughton
    Lorentz Kampf Jarnkrok

  15. Huge win for Toronto. Thrun has been on a terrible team and still has a lot of potential. Idk what San Jose is doing.

  16. Maybe the Sharks felt bad about how the Barabanov trade resulted from a few years ago, felt this would square things up? I like it.

  17. Dangle don't brag that Thrun will fight – you better watch the fight with dunn – he got it handed to him – now the trade itself was ok as the player back who is better than Mr Waivers

  18. Lol you think Auston Matthews is going to do anything without Reaves there for the vibes? Leafs are not making the playoffs without Reaves

  19. Don’t need Reaves when we still have Benoit. Can’t wait to see that movie about him that comes out tonight in theatres.

  20. Loved Muffin man on the Buds but this trade was a win for the Leafs AND for Reavo. Cap space, young D man and Reaves will have a lot better chance to get his 1000th game In SJ. All the best to him.
