Even if Tanner is amazing leader and kicks butt and adds some goals all of his best would just be equal to his pay. There is no way he can be better than his deal. And why no trade clause!! You gave term, money, and you can't move him lol for a bottom 6!! Do the Bruins think they found another Cam Neely cause I am sure they have NOT. Such a bad deal I can't wait to see this dude on the ice oh I mean in the penalty box.

Tanner Jeannot is a Sturm guy and there were over 10 teams who wanted him in their locker room. what if the cap hit was 2.9? would that make things more palatable? Sweeney has knocked it out of the park since the deadline I trust their judgment.
Bring Pete on more often. Its refreshing to have a Nesn production willing to be truthful and not just glazing the bruins. Sweens is usually hit or miss and this FA season was a miss with the volume of plugs not neccessarily the individual players. Is Blumel, Poitras, Minten, Lysell, Locmelis even part of the teams plans? Im alright with another year being bad and getting another stud prospect but another bad year where we dont know exactly what are prospects are capable of at the nhl level is a waste imo.

Let's recap Don Sweeney's UFA signings
Sweeney is doing the exact same thing he’s been doing since the day he became the Boston Bruins GM over 10 years ago now
He's building, yet again, low talent forward groups whose biggest strengths are defense, penalty killing and face-offs while he ignores skill like it’s the bird flu
The Bruins biggest need, by far and away these past two years, has been finding legitimate speed and skill across their entire roster but particularly in their Top 6 forward group
Yet, Sweeney decided again that he’s going to try to win games 0-0 and that he’s counting on, yet again, a team built on goaltending, defense and two-way players that can’t score much where he also asks too many of his 50 or so bottom 6 forwards to play higher up in the lineup & produce like real Top 6 talent
Don Sweeney’s roster building strategy over this past decade has proven in spades that at its ceiling these poorly constructed teams from a skill and speed standpoint can win a CRAP TON of regular season games
However, the effort and temperature of those regular season games are dialed back a CRAP TON versus playoff games and a CRAP TON of those meaningless regular seasons wins always come via the opportunity to play 50% of those games against teams who are under.500
Proof this is 100% Don Sweeney's roster building strategy?
One, you have seen Don Sweeney's Bruins rosters these past 10 right?
Have you seen that over these past 10 years that Sweeney's Bruins have won a crap ton of meaningless regular season games that have lead to one playoff fail after another because those low talent turds of teams get roasted in the playoffs once they have to go up against the skill and speed teams in the postseason every shift, every game and every night in the playoffs
Side Note:
Let's also not forget that all of those regular season wins were largely achieved primarily via the Hall of Fame level core that Don Sweeney inherited to begin his tenure as GM back in 2015 via the likes of Bergeron, Chara, Rask Krejci Marchand Pasta and Krug
Has anyone noticed that now that core Sweeney inherited is 95% out of the door except the Bruins best player of course, David Pastrnak, that even all those regular season wins have dried up?

Have you seen that when drafting at forward Don Sweeney has burned a fair amount of high draft capital on low talent forward turds like John Beecher and Trent Frederic
Have you seen that because of Sweeney's terrible drafting over a decade that the Bruins Farm System has been ranked in the toilet since the day he became GM where it’s still currently ranked 27th-32nd EVERYWHERE!!!
The only possible rationale here?
Don Sweeney and the Bruins are deliberately trying to land in the lottery in 2026 again, they'll try to sell off whatever vets they can in an attempt to add more assets at next year's trade deadline and that they'll also try to clear out more Cap space so they can take a much better run, at a much better UFA class next offseason
The problem? That plan seems far too smart to be hatched by Don Sweeney & Cam Neely
Thus something makes me 100% believe that Sweeney & Neely truly believe that the turd they just birthed to begin their off-season will turn into a butterfly at some point next season
When in reality, their turd is far more likely to just grow to stink even worse while it also becomes an even bigger turd
