  1. on the fourth line there''s also Sam Blais who is very physical and could play well with Evans and Gally

  2. I wouldn't be shocked if Florian Xhekaj gets some callup time in the NHL if there's injuries. He's a very interesting prospect. He had 24 goals and 175 PIM in his rookie AHL season playing primarily on the 4th line. He's big, mean, and scores. He's got NHL potential written all over him.

  3. As a Habs fan, i would say you are spot on regarding the Habs. I'm always amazed how well you know and understand the team and the players (even prospects) of every team in the NHL. That is amazing dedication and passion. Great job!

  4. I’m calling it here, now: Montreal will be the next Canadian team to win the Cup! They were the last in ‘93, and they’re going to bring the Cup back in ‘27 or ‘28!

  5. This is a fun team, bright future for sure. Just not enough up front right now. I see them missing the playoffs but not by much

  6. Habs management asked fans for patience during their 5 year rebuild .
Year 1 : Made the playoffs
    Year 2 : Will make 2nd round
    Year 3 : Stanley Cup
    Thank you for your patience.

  7. I think Matheson is the most likely to be traded this year, he is not getting any value playing on a third pair and he is at his last year of a very good contract. He is 31 years old still in his prime years. It is in both parties interest to move him. He is a very good player, he was a top 10 offensive defenseman with 62 pts during the 2023-2024 season. He deserves to play on a 2nd pair, to have powerplay time and an opportunity to play for a serious stanley cup contender. I trust Kent Hughes to make the best deal possible out of this.

  8. PP1

    Suzuki 🥅
    Slaf
    Caufield Demidov

    Hutson

    PP2

    Dach 🥅
    Newhook
    Laine Bolduc

    Dobson

Laine will not be on PP1 unless there is an injury

    Caufield – Suzuki – Slaf
    Bolduc – Dach – Demidov
    Laine – Evans – Newhook
    Anderson – Beck – Gally

    Ghule – Dobson
    Hutson – Reinbacher
    Xhekaj – Carrier

    Lose Matheson
    Trade Laine
Maybe trade Newhook too unless he can be a good PK guy and improved on faceoffs

  9. They have their weaknesses but they have the makings of a good team. I could see them as a playoff team again. It's all a question of health on the team, how well the youngsters develop. Just don't rely on Laine, he's either Maurice Richard's heir or unplayable no in between.

  10. I've said it before Hutson reminds me of JC Tremblay of the 60s habs teams. Excellent skater and elite playmaker. If he keeps sharpening his defensive play? He could be one of the best in the league.

  11. The problem with Roy is that he's had many chances on tge 2nd lineand never produced. I think he is pretty much on his last straws.

  12. They added a goaltender, Kaapo Kahkonen. Not exited about it but if Montembault gets hurt, we have someone to pair with Dobes.

  13. I do find it a bit funny how Wright had more goals and almost as many assists as Slafkovsky despite playing 3rd line minutes…
