Oscar Albeiro Figueroa Mosquera is a Colombian weightlifter who competes in the 62 kg class. At the 2004 Olympic Games, he finished fifth in the 56 kg class with a total of 280 kg. In 2008 in Beijing, he struggled with a serious injury that prevented him from achieving a result. After a successful operation, he returned in 2012, set an Olympic record of 177 kg in the clean and jerk and won silver. He finally won gold in Rio in 2016 with a total of 318 kg and then retired from the sport by symbolically taking off his shoes and placing them on the platform. 🏅👟

  2. what's the big deal? He failed at the last one, why does he get a Gold? This doesn't seem like very much weight, he's kinda small. Maybe they have different rules down there? whole lotta commotion for nothing. Lets see this guy play in the NFL

  3. By the way his coach with the white hair is the great Bulgarian coach Gancho Karushkov who discovered Naim, Zlatev , Topurov , Pashov to name a few , worked alongside the other great Abadjiev, and after created the weightlifting team of Columbia from scratch.
    Sadly he passed away 3 years ago.

  4. I personally like the silver win more than the gold one, it was a come back of all come backs. The gold one was the icing on the cake for sure though
