  1. Next Moves? Trying to fit 16 forwards and 7D (plus 2G) on a roster and have it work.

I'm the type that says positions are EARNED and require chemistry, they're not given. If Howard and Savoie want top 2 line placement EARN IT. I'd personally love to have Nuge move to 3C in many ways but is he honestly effective in that role? Philp as 4C makes a ton of sense except for the fact we have so many other guys trying to earn spots. Have folks forgetten Kapanen? We resigned him. Janmark? Knoblock favourite. Henrique, locker room old guy now that Perrry is gone (though Nuge is close and could almost double except for the fact he looks younger than Bouch most of the time (like any time after 7 AM when Bouch's "shadow" has come in). You want youth to give Bouch company? Bouch is the chemical formula for mellow. The youth would more be a test to see if he's got a pulse a lot of the time. Howard being all O, no D? So he's a younger Jeff Skinner who can skate and may score more because management will "encourage" Coach K to put him in and the guys to teach him D.

Look, the kids who are waivers exempt including Howard, Savoie, and, somehow, Tomasek, etc. will get a look because they can be sent down without issues. They may not like it but tough. It's the way things work. If there is an injury you may come back up too. The ones without waiver exemptions which includes Philp, you better be sure because they become free risks.

I can see Vancouver having a Goalie problem this way. They're carrying three including Silov's, Demko, and Lankinen. One of these guys may bounce free. There is no guarantee the Oilers get them, can afford them, or want them but it's a possibility.

  2. I am not super exicted for Fredric @ 3.8 million. Maybe 2.7 would make more sense. just my opinion. We have no cash for the salary cap 250 thousand under. Can they trade Nurse?

  3. That Jeff skinner situation was so weird.
Played well, always up-beat, learned to play defensive hockey, good numbers per 60.
At least, he got some playoff games and goals / points in, i guess 🙂

  4. Keep Henrique! He is a versatile player. His veteran presence will help. Otherwise, like that the team has gotten younger over last year.

  5. Thanks for your rundown Patrick 🍻 GO Oilers 🏒 let's hope Zak is back at the start. Cheers mate 🍻

  6. No doubt changes had to be made based on the cup final where some players just never matched with Florida. Honestly I'm not sure how the trades so far will work out. They look good on paper but paper can get shredded. Overall the trades sound promising but nothing compares to a few games under their belt. And it takes time for lines to develop chemistry. It's a wait and see for me at least. Go Oilers Go!

  7. Noah should be in over lazar ! Lazar guy can’t do anything at least Noah hits skates fast and plays a 200 foot game

  8. Iceman isn’t shy and hopefully #53 will get a better opportunity and live up to the hype. Besides World Cup he has no NHL experience. Agree on O’Reilly but it’s win now not in the future. Thanks for the update

  9. WHY SKINNER WAS GREAT…HE CAME IN, AND LITERALLY SCORED AND MADE PLAYS…BAD MOVE THERE…for some guy named GUY NAMED HOWARD…skinner was so excited tibe an oiler we drifted him for years to do this to do this to burn him like this…NOT HAPPY ABOUT THIS CHOICE. good luck skinner your an awesome player man
