pittsburgh has 16 million in cap space with an entire roster signed. it makes absolutely zero sense for any trade of Karlsson to not include half retention. they are rebuilding. there is nobody for them to sign. every move they make will be giving them cap RELIEF at this point. so to even talk about 6.5 million makes zero sense. its either half retained or no trade period.
Kyle Connor is in the last year of his contract…
What makes anyone think Karlsson will come here? He'd probably wants to chase a cup on a contender

No on Kyrou, I have friends and co workers that are Blues fans and say he might be a cancer in the locker room, overpaid, can't wait to rid of em and if they get a 5th rounder for em they would be happy…so 😅 I'ma go with my gut n say no thanks…Go Wings!
It's just stupidity on Yzermans part if he gives up ANYTHING for him.
23-24 WIngs had Gostisbehere, who is 30 at the time, putting up 56 points on defense.
He proceeds to NOT sign him for this past season, and Gostisbehere puts up 45 points for Carolina, AND chips in 9 points in 15 playoff games.
Yeah… Sooo let's get Karlsson, his garbage contract at 34 years of age, along with his awful defense, to have the same impact Gostisbehere had last season for the Wings.
I would tell Pittsburgh and Kyle "Boobis" to take Karlsson, along with that anchor of a contract, and shove it so far up their collective A$$es that they choke on it.
There's a zero . Zero percent chance yzerman told him he had a spot on the team this year and he decided to stay in Russia. You just lost any shred of credibility you might have had. Gone.
