Domi for McCann? Dumb trade
The Leafs have a limited window to win the Cup. A prospect will not be impactful in the timeframe. So getting an experienced NHLer is the way to go.
Trying to get tougher so they are going to trade Domi for McCann that makes zero sence
This only makes sense if they are trading a Nick Robertson and David Kampf (for cap reasons) for McCann – Domi provides toughness and wants to be here.
McCann would be a good C for Nylander and Matcelli
Knies – Matthews – Domi
Matcelli – McCann – Nylander
McMann – Tavares – Roy
Lorentz – Laughton – Jarnkrok
Ppl need to stop talking about trading Domi.. The second we would trade him we would be looking to get him back. Just like Kadri.. You don't trade players that love playing here with grit and talent.
I heard the Leafs are focused on one player who has shown he can put up points with some real grit. All they need to do is get a couple shovels to dig up Gordie Howe.
Leafs have some highly rated college players, they could consider moving.
Robertson and Domi and a prospect outside of Cowan and Danford should be sufficient for McCann
Marner had 102 points and got paid 10.9 million
Domi got 33 points and got paid 3.7 million
Domi production was not far off Marners points per salary ( however you wanna calculate it )
Marner played with Matthews all year and played almost every bit of power play time
This is even with Domi having a bad year , Domi fights and sticks up for teammates , fans need to leave this guy alone for god sakes
Domi is probably the best option to replace Marner on the top line.
Hes Marner "light" does everything Mitch did just at a lesser skill level.
But hes also alot tougher and more physical.
I think the Leafs should dump the Reaves contract and then Leaf Nation can whimper and piss about not having enough toughness & grit on the team…. Now before the ball kickers get wound up, you do not contract a player like Reaves to score….learn something about the game…. Had Reaves been on the bench during the Panther series, Bennett wouldn't have taken the run at Stolarz …. if he had, I can guarantee he would not have lead the league in points after a shift or two with Reaves….If only the current edition of MLSE & Leaf Nation could read … they might pick up a hockey book while taking a dump and actually learn something about role players….
No you don’t trade a guy like domi who can play up and down your line up, signed up to play here, is actually a point producer in the playoffs and bring what need. I tired of these domi trade takes it’s quite ridiculous.
Treliving seems to be all over everyone. Guessing he's muddying the waters so rival GMs don't sit by the phone waiting for him to call with gaff hook in hand. No one heard he was interested in Carlo until he pulled off the trade.
It’s gonna cost a 1st plus one of Cowan or Danford. Plenty of other teams will pay that or more. Seattle has no interest in someone like a 30 yr old Domi, they’re trying to clear out their vets

Domi is too versatile to trade . Mcmann Robertson and the 2026 3rd rd pick is the way to go .
If it's agreed that the leafs need to be tougher, why trade Domi. Look at the DNA this show spreads so much bullshit. They need 3 more Domi not less

Domi is the ideal winger for Matthew’s. Matthew’s best hockey the last couple of years was with Domi and Bertuzzi. With Shanahan gone I think Bérubé will be able to do what he wants.

Don't worry the season will be starting and the leafs per normal will have made no trades and only sign a bunch of fringe ahl players ready to retire
