Ahhh Rust and Rakell. It'll suck to get rid of one but its just rumors as usual, right?
Please explain arbitration; why a player initiates it and why the team initiates it. Is it only for RFA's?
Hopefully York can step up this year. I am a Flyer's season ticket holder & unbiased Michigan fan so I was really excited for him to come up but was extremely disappointed in his play the last 2 years. Hoping it was an issue with coaching but he needs to prove something this year
If Pittsburgh got first overall pick for next year's draft, Dubas would trade down.
Imagine having Cole Caufield, Thomas Harley or Newhook. Yet you choose a 5.1M dollar Cam York.
Your pronouncing Brisson incorrectly. Its pronounced "Briss On" His father is the big wig NHL Agent
The Sabres and Byram… I've felt from day one that the cap hit they were looking at was the reason for the trade rumors. I think this confirms it. They have made moves to free up the space, but at the same time I think they'd prefer to move him. They don't want lottery tickets (AKA: Draft picks), they want actual players and if they allowed another to offersheet him.. they either let him go for the lottery tickets or they match and now can't trade him for a year. This way, they can sign him if needed (I would not take him to actual Arb hearing) but can still move him this year if the deal comes up. Right now, everything i'm hearing is everyone is only offering those lottery tickets… Which might hit… but often.. don't and don't help them one lick this year (which is really what the sabres want)
Panthers legend Zac Dalpe! Without his game tying goal in game six against the Bruins in 2023, there's a good chance the Panthers would have no cups at this point
Least now Adams can't use the "need to save Cap space for offer sheets" excuse 😂
Can someone please explain arbitration to me
Penguins will of course tank intentionally to get a foreign generational talent. It worked in 1984, again in 2005, so… 2026 here we come. Funnily enough, even Phoenix has fostered more local talent than Pittsburgh.
Funnily enough, Patrick Kane scored his stanley cup winning OT goal on Michael Leighton.
The collective delusion among almost every NHL front office in thinking they can compete is pathetic. It’s why the Bruins and Kraken handed out two of the worst free agent contracts for the second offseason in a row. Teams like them aren’t fooling anyone.
I hope mcbain gets mendoza
Byram to the flames for Sam honzek and a 2nd round pick 2026
Im not sure we know how many defenseman can start a game…
Dalpe has been an amazing captain for the Checkers and we wish him all the best. Fantastic guy
As a pens fan… I really want rust and rakell to stay. But ig they just have to move on and rebuild I just like both of those players. Good luck to them honestly
YORKY!!! Glad he signed for a decent # too
I actually think this is a smart move by Buffalo. It rules out the offer sheet, and Byram can elect the two-year term to take him to UFA, which buys more time for Buffalo to get either a new long-term deal done or a better trade. And with knowing he's going to be a pending UFA, Buffalo could get some really good seasons out of a motivated Byram if they hold onto him until the deadline of the year his awarded deal expires. Also of note, Byram hasn't actually requested a trade, just wants money equivalent to a #1 defender.
Pens slowly embracing the full rebuild. Malkin and Crosby next
Don't know if you hears Shannon, but suttlebutt is that this will be final season for Bridgeport in the AHL. Hamilton will be back in the league for 26-27. No word yet if Islanders make it their affiliate, or another team goes there.
Pens need to bring the baby blue jersey back as an alternate
They're really giving 5 million to every average defenseman nowadays
Huh, I didn't even know the Penguins had a light blue jersey 🫨🙀😱🤯
Why does a good goalie never become a coach ? These trash goalies are going to teach what exactly ?
sabre really dont need byram. but hey what do i know.
Flyers fan wishing Leights luck in Detroit! I wonder how he'll do as a coach, I know he wasn't the most elite goalie in the world but he's been around the block and has an average career percentage of .900 and a cup final to his name. I also wonder how he'll feel hanging around Patrick Kane…
Great Jersey…Les Binkley wore it well
Leighton can now give back to Kane his 2010 Stanley Cup winning puck.
What if Rakell came back to Anaheim? They could trade a few picks+ a prospect. Maybe get rid of a 4th liner.
Shannon – "i'm wearing penguins jersey cause they are an absolute dumpster fire." 😂😂
cam york isnt worth 5 at all. never will be. what a terrible contract
From all the good goaltenders Detroit have had over the years (maybe less so in past 8 years), they hire Michael Leighton as the goalie coach?
Goaltending hasnt been an issue for Detroit their non-existent dcore has been the major issue
Im curious what McBain gets with the Mammoth. Hes a pretty good middle 9 option. I had him in fantasy (hits and pim mattered) and he surprisingly scored more goals than I thought he would
Lavoie has played 16 NHL games and had zero points. 775k free in cap space would have been smarter.
Rust AND Rakell? Oh boy The Oilers may say goodbye to one of Janmark or Henrique plus send Max Jones (1M) and Emberson (1.3M for 25yr old defenseman) to Bakersfield / AHL. Rust and Mangiapane could be effective.
Leighton? Really? Odd choice considering hes widely thought of as a below average backup.
Sabres buying time.
Leighton going to sabotage Patty Kane's success this coming season.
Mark my words.
Goalies hold grudges
Pens going from Mario to Sid the Kid to Mckenna that would be crazy if happens
Full circle moment for Leighton and Kane.
That Penguins jersey is one of my favourites.
Is Hunter Skinner's hobby taxidermy?
Caps first rounder Lynden Lakovic signed his ELC a few days ago… idk if you already covered that but do you think you'll do a video on him once you get back to talking about prospects from the draft?
McBain signed with Utah, 4.25M AAV over 5 years
sabres have gotta be the stupidest organization there can be simply because of the fact they haven’t made the playoffs in 14 years, they have 27 million in cap and instead of desperately going out and stealing beosner and ellher with all that cap they do the exact opposite. i really feel bad for the fans and then the organization wonders why nobody wants to stay there. go out and be aggressive ka. playing way to conservative for a fan base that bleeds blood sweat and tears for a team they never given up on that gives up on them.
