Bust? Bust what? The team should've been named the Arizona/Utah Rebuild. It will never end.
Good Morning Tom and Robyn
I think we have to differentiate between the slow. Rebuild, they were having to do in Arizona because of lack of support by ownership versus today. And it's time to start putting expectations on them, or they won't complete the. Rebuild, so to speak the ownerships, helping them accelerate things, helping them acquire have it players helping out facilities? This is a different situation. It's time for this rebuild to turn the corner and it's not a rebuild, it's time to focus on winning
How do the Mammoth hockey team figure out who makes the hockey team and who goes down to the Roadrunners?
“The seat might be a little warm” I agree. I’m excited to have a season where it is too blatantly obvious to make excuses if coaching doesn’t perform as well as the players need. It feels like this season is Andre’s (dare I say “last”?) chance to show management/fans/players that he can elevate to a playoff coach.
I’m with Tom in this one I think. I’m not expecting a Stanley this year but I want to see them do some damage in the playoffs. Gonna need a goaltending tandem that’s trustworthy is a big part of that.
To bolster our goaltending, I was hoping the Mammoth could offer a 4th- or 5th-round pick to the Canucks for G Arturs Silovs. He had a good Calder Cup run. He won a bronze medal for Latvia at the IIHF 2023 world championships. He had a good run in the playoffs in 2024. He's still young and could be a solid backup somewhere.
I think what bill is trying to create is more of a long-term Dynasty of competing, not lets just blow our load for 2-3 year window. He wants a 7-10 year window. Thats how I view it based off his own interviews and listening to content.
The NHL draft is just crazy to me. I feel that once drafted, a player sort of vanishes from view. I wouldn't be surprised to see a player drafted, then go back and finish college, play in the AHL for a bit, then sign with another NHL team after the team that drafted them has put so much money towards this player.
Does a player that is drafted have a contract that pulls them through the years of playing before their NHL level debut? College, AHL, NHL .. Does the player keep "trying out" during the summer camps? Is that how they move up? New guy questions here 🙂 .. sorry
