Trading Dougie and retaining Palat would be a disaster.
At the end of the day it’s a performance driven business and we’ve had 1 good year from Dougie since he signed here, does he make an impact? Yes but if he’s always getting hurt that impact is not as important as it would be otherwise. I do agree that Dougie absolutely 100% can not be just a cap dump, you have to get an impact player in return for him. The only untouchables in the devils franchise are Nico Jack Luke Bratt timo and yegorov, everyone else can be fairly easily replaced

Moving Dougie shouldn't be only to free up cap. Moving Dougie should be for restructuring the mix, getting a true top 6 winger for either Jack or Nico.
Yes Nemec/Casey are currently a step back from Dougie, yes Dougie gets more hate on his defense than he deserves however I don't think that's the cause for most of us wanting to see him traded. Moving Dougie is just the smart logical move to make, he actually should have value so Fitz could get a good return unlike with Palat, Fitz would most likely be freeing up a little cap (Kyrou makes 8m, Robo makes 7.7m as possible top 6 examples), gives Nemec/Casey a spot to earn and grow into.
Yegorov has an unbelievable personality and his ridiculous English language skill demonstrates his high intelligence. Wow! If he turns out to be a good NHL player we Devils fans are going to fall in love with this guy. As for Spaulding I am sorry but I found his voice and announcing style super annoying. Especially annoying when he’d talk over Adam Hamway’s three stars PA address. (Which is so great.) I am looking forward to LaGreca. LaGreca is definitely more Jersey than Bill S. and he’s going to bring the fun.

I say Dougie is a keeper; but only because we know what we are getting with him. I do wonder about rolling the dice with Nemic in order to get a forward; but even there – we do not know exactly what we will get with a Robertson. Yeah, I say stay with Hamilton.
