I understand that Canucks fans are excited about Mason‘s potential, but I don’t think they will like how much he would cost to obtain.

If they're looking for a big, top 2 centre, he fits the bill. The problem is what they'd have to give up to get him. The Ducks aren't just gifting him to Vancouver. He had 52 points last year. That's a 2nd line centre. And he's young. If EP40's numbers were better, we'd be looking at moving him in a deal, along with probably Willander or Mancini and a 1st, at minimum. That makes zero sense. That has Cam Neely written all over it.
Mason McTavish has produced the 3rd most points in the NHL from his draft class. Here are some of his highlight videos:

McTavish also won the Memorial Cup in 2022, which is really hard to do since the CHL has a total of 60 teams.
Rev Trev ,
I just want to watch Vancouver play with grit and put in a sold 60-minute game in .
Now that free agency is effectively done, the time to acquire 2C is during the McKenna Tankathon sweepstakes.
Hopefully we can tread water with Chytil in 2C until then, I believe we can if he keeps his head up.
I agree trev, canucks can’t over pay, and must keep there picks
Stuart
Hey Trev, I think you’re missing the case about Mason McTavish. I wouldn’t judge a player based on one game. He’s got speed, he can score, and he produces points. He also has grit in his game so, I don’t mind having more grit into our lineup. His stats are good as a 2C, forget how many goals he scored per year. Tbh, I think he’s the solution to our 2C situation.
The thing is, how much do the Canucks are willing to give up to get him? I think it will take at least one of our roster players, one of our prospects, and a couple of draft picks (one of the picks should conditional). But … who knows …
Don't get me excited. I thought Nucks got McTavish!
True, I don't like the idea of trading for him in that I think we would have to give up too much
