I consider it less this was the plan all along and more they had no better options for who to sign. Most other teams did worse!

Pretending like it's just a runback and that's bad completely ignores that last season was marred by injuries and a massive locker room issue that devoured like half a season. Swapping Boeser for someone like Ehlers just for the sake of change would be a dumb decision.

The season relies on Demko's health far more than anything else, if he's healthy we'll be in the playoffs.

Sometimes patience is needed. I’m sure management has weighed all options and opportunities. The market didn’t offer enough to part with EP40. Keeping Brock, adding grit with a home town stud in Evander Kane, and giving this team the goaltending to win a cup. This is the year for this team. We will have a special year and EP40 should be the captain!
