Shaq fires back at a claim made by Chris “Mad Dog” Russo, from ESPN, that Shaquille O’Neal is the 5th best center of all time. Adam Lefkoe reads out Mad Dog’s list and Shaq responds to each player Chris Russo placed above him. Where do you think Shaq sits in the best center of all time ranking?

Shaq was super fast and powerful for someone his size.
Prime Shaq was the most dominant player Iโve ever seen. For 3 yrs, the rest of the nba was just playing for 2nd place
Best center of all time none of those guys are stopping Shaq
Give me prime Shaq over Hakeem. Hakeem was absolutely the better overall skilled player, by far. But prime Shaq was a force of nature. Imagine a center so dominant the ONLY way to stop him is to foul him.
Bill Russell
Hakeem beat Shaq head to head in the 1995 NBA Finals. In fact, Hakeem swept Shaq in the 1995 NBA Finals.
Shaq definitely canโt take criticism like he can dish it.
You canโt have Wilt on the list without Russell.
No F-ing way.
Wilt has more pts AND rebounds ๐ญ also, Tim played more seasons as a center than as PF, you can have an argument there.
It's interesting to see how many people in these comments would take Olajuwan over Shaq because Dream beat Shaq head to head yet NONE of you would say Bird is better than Jordan. It's 2025 and Michael Jordan has still never beat Bird in the Playoffs. Oh yea, I'm not talking about a series, I'm talking about ONE playoff game.
He's being fair in terms of impact certainly not the most skilled. I loved Ben Wallace against Shaq.
๐โ๐๐ ๐๐๐ก ๐๐๐๐ ๐ค๐๐กโ ๐ป๐๐๐๐๐!!
Olajowan is better than Shaq ๐๐๐
Artis Gilmore and Bob Lanier google them
Wilt, bill, Shaq, Kareem, Hakeem.
Typical emotional black woman I'll get violent with a smaller older person over his opinion Shaq is trash go away
Olajuwon was the clear alpha on his championship teams and he DEATROYED shaq head to head. Shaq was integral to 3 championships but those teams were clearly more dominant any their competition at the time. I dont think shaq could have done what Olajuwon did and Olajuwon was clearly way more skilled
Shaq is #1. Imo.
You're not above the 5th spot Shaq๐
Mad Dog was right. Shaq never passed up Dream. And Moses was amazing. Heโs 4 or 5 in all honesty.
Shaq used to be my boy ever since he got into that Shannon sharp beef. I lost a lot of respect for him. Heโs like a big crybaby.
Passed Moses Malone up? What does that mean? What arts you measuring with? Prideful Shaq. Look you might be better than Moses but you canโt create your own criteria. Wilt was much better than Shaq. Bill Russell was fantastic. He could have scored 25 points a game if he needed to but Boston needed other things and they win e over and over.
YAO MING
Made his point and stayed humble.
He can be number 2 only because Wilt is a nice guy and don't want to be too physical and don't wanna hurt other guys because he know that he's way way stronger than Shaq. Wilt is probably the strongest guy physically in NBA history.
Shaq really gets fighting mad over bs. Top 5 isn't an insult and the guys listed were legends. It isn't like they were putting Greg Ostertag over him.
Valid answer, but thereโs still argument for Hakeem, especially cuz Hakeem quite literally beat Shaq in the finals and always got the best of him. Also Duncan played more years at centre than pf. So thatโs an argument too.
Imo Shaq is def top 5 tho! 1st Kareem, 2nd Shaq, 3rd Wilt, 4th Duncan (if we counting he as a centre), 5th Hakeem. | Next up: 6th Bill, 7th Moses, 8th Jokic, 9th Robinson and Ewing to round up the top 10.
Not to mention, the centre position is actually the deepest when discussing who is best at a single position.
The "most dominant center ever" never put up 30 in any season and never pulled down more than 12 per game. He wasn't a dominant defender beyond shot blocking. Russell, Wilt and Kareem are three of the top four players all time. You could argue he's four, but I would put Hakeem ahead of him. And regardless of what anyone says. Duncan was a center. That puts Shaq at six. Which is still damn good
Wilt averaged 50 and 25 for a season. Scored 100 points in a game. And got 633787545885447 women pregnant in 1 lifetime. He was the most dominate center ever
Wilt Chamberlain is way more dominant
Shaq is #1 in my opinion. He'd whoop every single one of those dudes 1 on 1.
If shaq had the work ethic of Kobe nobody would be saying stuff like this. There would he no conversation.
Shaq is so honest, most players in the NBA would say theyโre the best player ever sometimes in their rookie year someone had a better stats like Wilt they would say thatโs just one stat
1. Hakeem
2. Kareem
3. Wilt
4. Shaq
5. Moses
1.Kareem
2.Olajuwon
3.Wilt
4.Shaq
5.Jokic
Starting with a violent threat isnโt the best look.
I wish heโd stop doing that – especially as a man of his stature and especially especially as a Black man of his stature.
Shaq: Kareem, Yes.
No explaination needed. Respect.
Wilt was the best individual player in the NBA. Had they tracked blocks and steals, Wilt would have had multiple seasons averaging a triple double and a few with quadruple doubles. Had they Defensive Player of the Year and all-defensive teams, then Wilt would have had a lot more individual honors.
He cant say he came back and beat hakeem if he didnt do it in the finals
I donโt see any playoff series where Shaq beat Hakeem. Which one is he talking about?
I would take Wilt, Russell, Kareem and Bill Walton all before shab!!!!
Kareem
Shaq (most dominant)
Bill Russell
Wilt Chamberlain
Hakeem Olajuwon
Patrick Ewing
I'd say personally that shaq and kareem are the 2 best centres its whoever you favor that will be your number 1, for me its shaq but i also havent really seen much of kareem so thats got me a little bias but they are def the 2 best centers in my opinion
