  1. This is more likely than not a replay from last year where they sell off veteran players at the trade deadline (including some of the guys they just signed) to get more young talent and more draft capital (and cap flexibility) their own pick should be a lottery pick and perhaps get more premium players in that draft – that would also be the year to dive into the RFA market to add younger NHL ready talent. Having a plan is better than being stuck in purgatory for the foreseeable future.

  2. There is NO justifying 5 years for Jaennot. None. 2 years at 1-2m? Sure. Fine. It would have been OK. What they gave him makes the Charlie Coyle wishful thinking tour contract look totally sane. Now, it's still short money, and it won't make or break the team. But the message it sends to, for instance, younger players is just a weird one. I am really struggling with finding any vision in the Bruins FA moves over the past few years, I think almost without exception they have all failed and many failed hard.

  3. Well said on the cap-Sweeney shouldnt have added all the bottom 6 players, should have kept more cap space available for next FA Class in 2026 which is far better than the 25 class

  4. Mailbag: What do you see the next 2-3 year outlook/roadmap being for this team? With the cap going up, it almost seems like the Bruins needs to build through the draft in order to compliment Pasta and McAvoy’s later years of their respective careers.

  5. 1-3 years from now, Hagens should be our 1C, Poitras our 2C, and Lindholm our 3C. Pasta, Hagens, Geekie on the 1st line, Zacha, Poitras, Letourneau on the 2nd line, Mittelstadt, Lindholm, Tufte on the 3rd line. Any thoughts??

  6. Question: As you can see from this year free agency, no one good is going to be available because the cap is going up every year, the only way you get impactful players are through the draft and trade. There is only one player I will trade for (just like all the other teams) and that is McDavid. Would you guys consider trading Hagens, Geekie, Swayman and 2 first round picks(2026, 2027) for McDavid? If not, what other combinations of players and picks will you offer in this fantasy scenario?
