Taylor Hall talks playing in second Winter Classic

all right Taylor fresh off the ice with your teammates there first off tell us about the ice surface how it felt out there today and how the group is responding it was really fast actually U I’m really impressed with uh with how they’ve been able to maintain it there’s been so much rain here recently and the weather hasn’t been great but that was awesome out there yeah we just got learned I just learned that you were as a kid a young kid out in Edmonton for that outdoor game back in the day with Montreal Canadians I mean that’s super cool right comeing full circle uh being outdoors here today what was that experience like um yeah it was it was cool I mean I was 12 years old and and it was kind of the first outdoor game that they did there was um an awesome uh I don’t want to oldtimers game with all the Legends and alumni of both teams and then there was the real game which was awesome you know Jose thear wearing the touque on his helmet and it actually was a great game I remember being you know pretty young and wondering why everyone was drinking cold beer when it’s you know minus 20 Celsius out but uh now that I’m an adult I kind of get it you get it now yeah yeah yeah well you had a chance to play at Fenway Park as well another iconic venue what what can you take from that experience and maybe apply it here tomorrow but also share with some of your teammates that haven’t played in these outdoor games yet yeah obviously you know you got to enjoy it and take it all in um you know the the game there’s a game that happens and you want to you know you want to play your best in it and you want to make sure you’re prepared and you know tonight we’re staying in a hotel we did that with Boston as well it’s important just to treat it like a normal game and and try and get your alone time and not waste energy you know doing stuff that you you normally wouldn’t do on a normal game night so um I’m excited for it it’s going to be a blast and and uh to play at two iconic venues like that I’m I’m very grateful we we talk or we see every it seems like Winter Classic they The Outfits the the Wardrobe coming in you guys have anything special planned I mean you don’t want to let the cat out of the bag but who’s in charge of those types of things um I think figy and and our PR department did a really good job with with what we’re doing I think you know I think there’s been a lot of themes and a lot of cool stuff done um we kind of went a different route and just trying to honor the uh some important people that that serve the city of Chicago so um I think everyone’s going to look good and and uh be pretty comfy at the same time I can’t wait that’s all he could share I love it all right Taylor thanks so much for taking the time to join us have fun tomorrow all right thanks guys
