As a guy who played hockey his whole life up through ACHA D1 at RMU, I still never know what people mean by “skating” in this context. Speed? Edge work? Agility? Balance?

Great episode. Some data about 'reaching' for picks like they did with Kindel…..very low percentage of players who are selected higher than the scouts consensus thought are very low, Erik Karlsson was a reach at 15, Carey price was a reach at 6, and draisitl was a reach at 3…..but these aren't the general outcomes, they are exceptions…..so the hope is that dubas and company have made one of these exceptional reaches that outperform……we shall see…the odds are ever no in our favour

Gaining leg strength is not that difficult if you train hard and correctly
There are reasons why the Penguins were willing to deal 2 1s for a more elite 1. Kindel isnt perfect. And thats okay. Of the 3 1s, 1 will probably be good, 1 will be meh, and 1 will bust. Probably. And thats okay.
They fixed McGroartys skating, why are we so worried?
A lot goes into building leg strength and how to do it. The main thing is to address it. I'm looking forward to this season. Thank you DK Great show
DK – Thanks for answering the question. I guess to clarify, I didn't mean to hand jobs to the kids, but more so, if they don't earn the spots, we already have those spots filled by the likes of Heinen, Acciari and Kevin Hayes, so why create extra hurdles for the young players, but I get your overall point.
Should have taken Eklund and could have still gotten Kindel later in the first after trading back IMO. But it is all a crap shoot
