    Matheson isn’t in my top 4 as a fan. I think Habs should do Hutson-Dobson and Guhle-Carrier as our top 4 with hopefully Reinbacher developing into top 4 and can play in place of Carrier.

    Kuzy might be more trouble than he's worth but he does like playing with other Russians.

    He's only good when he's focused.

    Laine can't drop past third line status. He'll eventually be 2nd PP and Habs will want to trade him at the deadline. But he needs more minutes to get points.

    They aren't playing Carrier with Hutson, that is a very small D pairing.

    Once Matheson is gone, you move Hutson back to the left, and Reinbacher lines up beside him.

    We don't need Kyrou. You need a player on that top line that is going to go into the corners, and dig pucks out for Suzuki and Caufield, and that is exactly what Slaf does.

    Not so sure Kuznetsov is the answer. Sure, he played with Demidov in the KHL and was nearly a PPG player. But it was still the KHL

    Those are the 3 players that need to move on if they do not improve

    Dobson was an upgrade on Matheson no need for Matheson anymore,

    Laine – blue line in player, one dimensional requires the other 4 players on the ice work for him, not strong 200’, not physical, unless he shows a physical element and tries defensively the sooner they move him the better

    Matheson – elite skater but poor puck management, not physical, needs a strong defensive partner otherwise it spells trouble – need to move him!!! need room for Xhekaj & Reinbacher Strubble as well who all play heavier

    Newhook – elite puck carrier, poor at faceoffs, no skill for top 6, no grit for bottom 6, a faster heavier Max Domi…

    Could you see a Zibanejad for Matheson and Dach trade? It would make sense bc rags need more defensive depth and forward depth and Habs want a top 6 forward.
