At no point did Briere or Jonesy say they were going out to get a goalie to make Errson the backup.
I like brodes
What other goalies were out there
They are not ready to pay a top end goalie that’s a vet
No reason to trust jonesy and briere just bc we like them
I disagree with the idea that Cam York hasn't lived up to the billing as a top 4 defensemen. That's simply recency bias at its finest. If they had done this deal just a calendar year ago, $5M and change per year for 5 years would been considered a heist of an extension. He likely would've been in the $7M range if he didn't have a down year playing with a ball & chain around his skates under Torts.
As far as the drafting, I actually think that it's one of the only things they've done well since Brent Flahr took over the scouting department. They already hit on York, Brink, Foerster, Gauthier even though he left, and Michkov. Then there's guys that look like they'll be hits in Bump, Luchanko, Bonk, Barkey, Martone, and Zavragin.
The goalie thing is completely fair though. They definitely got dealt a rough one with Hart's situation, but they've had enough time rectify it by now.
