It’s been a whirlwind week for the Winnipeg Jets.
There’s been a major addition — Jonathan Toews — and a major departure in Nikolaj Ehlers.
With Gustav Nyquist now in the fold and Mason Appleton off to Detroit, plenty of questions are swirling–and you made sure we heard them.
Cam and Jim fire up and reheat the best listener texts and break it all down.
Plus: what does it mean now that Gabriel Vilardi, Dylan Samberg, and Morgan Barron have all filed for salary arbitration?
All that and more on today’s edition of Jets @ Noon.

I'm not buying what Ehlers is selling, that was a nicely crafted sales pitch likely from his agent but its pretty clear to me he was pretty butt hurt when Laine was traded and wanted out from that day on!!!
He had NO intentions of ever signing here and Chevy was too stupid too see this coming!!!
I'm fine with Ehlers walking. It would have been nice to have him stay, but I get it, he wants a change. He wants to feel like a first line player. I think Toews will make a bigger impact than many expect – like some people have said, he didn't need to come back, just to be 'adequate'. He will be in the HOF without playing another game. If he was just going to 'try' to come back, I think he would have signed elsewhere, but knowing how much it means to everyone, I mean the city, and with the entire league watching, I don't think he would have chosen to play here if he wasn't sure he could be impactful. Yes, he's tempering expectations, and I don't expect he'll score 40 goals, but I wouldn't be surprised if he gets 80 points, or even just 70, but many of the points he does get will be difference makers. And I said it many times this past season, Mason was a weak link. I wish they would have put Tanev back with Adam, because that would have been a force to reckon with, but leaving that third line intact didn't use Brandon to his strengths, and there were a number of occasions where Mason just didn't get the job done. He had heart, and he put in the effort, but he didn't have the same level of talent, or at least execution, as Nino and Adam. Nyquist on the third line, that's going to be something. I believe Toews will stick as 2C. He's been skating since Feb/Mar and he's still got a couple of months to get the legs back – and he said he's still got the hands.
Sorry bad takes guys. Conner would have gotten 90 plus points with anyone as the third one on that line. Iafallo was on the first line at points lol. Oh and comparing what other coaches did with the same results is a bad example lol
