For those who don’t understand this. We are still struggling to get free agents to sign here. Hence why there was no Gavrikov reunion. Why? So he could get traded again? Fat chance.
Also remember that we were under the salary cap. We were given a year of grace… Cap min last year was around $70m, we spent about $40m. Sure it’s an overpay. You know what else would be an overpay? NOT becoming cap compliant and giving up, potentially, multiple 1st round picks as a punishment.
You’re mad about this signing, but try to imagine how mad you’d be… We miss out on McKenna because we simply didn’t become cap compliant. Franchise player to the penguins, because we didn’t spend enough money.
