No, they got worse, they gave My Flyers the greatest player in the league Christian Dvorak, and then they failed to sign the goat goalie Dan Vladar… massive mistakes on the Habs part…. sarcasm… I'm gonna have a rough year…. lol
I think a lot comes down to how Gallagher starts the season in regards to how the 3rd line is structured. I would hate to see Roy get traded because he's buried in the lineup then see Gallagher have a bad preseason and first part of the season. If Roy can take that next step, he's still only 21, thinking of how he played with Bedard, I would love to see him get time with Laine on a 3rd line.
Ngl, i’m more excited for our defence. Carrier and ghule are fkg studs, bolduc is super reliable, hutson the superstar, matheson is a great mentor and wifi is wifi lol.

I like your defense set up Junkie though on forward I would swap Gallagher and Anderson I just think Anderson would bring more to that line and make it bigger. (To bad Laine doesn't throw around his body even a little bit) but that is the way it is. Could also see Dach and Newhook swap though we're all hoping they pick up a center to fill that 2c hole but man Dach has the skill set and hockey IQ he screams center but the poor bastard can't stay healthy. If for some miracle he does next season and he can get his faceoff percentage above 40% (for comparison Sam Bennett won only just over 40% and every team wants that guy though him and dach are very different) I wouldn't be mad if they gave Dach one more shoot at center if they can't find a deal. Cheers
I might get flack for this but I would like to see a line of Demidov, Dach, Laine. As it's the final season for two of those players. They have one more shot to make it work and are getting paid for it. But a healthy Laine is scary with an elite playmaker and possibly a Dach that can prove he's the right guy for the job. If not, they are fine next year.
Carrier and Hutson is not a good pairing. Hutson needs a gorilla by his side.
I loved the Noah Dobson trade. Huge fan of his. But the Bolduc trade might prove to be the best one from the summer.
Did they get better yes but the penalty kill is worrying me they lost 3 of their best pk’ers
Blais should will be a wrecking ball on the 4th, I love your lines the only change I would make is Anderson on the turd, Gallagher on the 4th.

A few things:
If Kirby Dach is going to be the 2C, Laine has to be on the 3rd line. Until either or both show that their injuries are behind them and they can be more responsible defensively, you have to keep them separate.
I love Xhekaj, but Struble was better in similar minutes across the board. He plays with Matheson or Carrier until he shows otherwise.
I don’t love the size of that 2nd pairing. Two sub 6’ defenseman together doesn’t sound good, regardless of talent. I think someone gets moved, Carrier becomes your 3RD, and Reinbacher, a guy with size, plays with Hutson

HUGHES is waiting patiently for a contending team to get struck with the injury bug during the season and lose a top defenseman. Then he'll pull off a steal for an established up-and-coming 2C.
And WHO is gonna challenge DOBES for the backup spot BTW? I was under the impression that MONTY was gonna be challenged by DOBES at some point. It can't be FOWLER, or KAKONEN whatever his name is.
Imagine a "fourth" line with Evans centering Blais and Anderson….that line is going to bring speedy, heavy hockey!

I really feel like laine should be on the second line. He brings physicality as seen in the playoffs, and he’d be a great guy to pass to, from players like demidov and dach with elite vision. He would need to step up his 5v5
I think Oliver Kapanen will make it to the line up.
I think Laine also will be better than ever, cause they didn't let him to get bact to Finland for the summer. He will be in better shape and there for willing also to skate more.
I REALLY hope we keep newhook around, dude works his butt off every shift and is fast as hell. If they can extend him on a 4m or less deal for a handful of years that would be amazing

I'd like to give Gallagher and Anderson a shot on line 3 (depending on how they perform during camp and first few games), but if Joe Veleno signs with MTL, do you send Newhook to the wing? I really hope he worked on his faceoff abilities. Laine? That's a hell of a puzzle……Maybe he could be on the fourth without playing on the fourth…..like that's his official place, but you usually send him on various lines when they get a faceoff on the offensive zone and on the PP……Idk, I really hope he's going to show capable of being competitive 5 on 5……….fingers crossed lol……I look at the line up and I wonder if there are upcoming trades…..do you think they'll consider signing Kuznetsov? Given the Demidov/kuznetsov relationship

Anderson will be on the third and gallagher on the fourth, also second line for the D will be matheson/hutson and third xhekaj/carrier
i think lane hutson could centre better than dach at this point
The Habs are gonna be a menace on offense, give it 2-3 years when all our puppies get their ‘man strenght’ and we’ll be genuine contenders . I know we improved big time our offensive power, but we lost 3 pk specialists in Armia, Dvorak and Sasquatch Savard who acted as a 2nd goalie during penalty kills. Some kids will have to step up.
Some point during the preseason, I would like to see a 4th line of Blais-FloJack-Anderson……….imagine the forechecking these guys would dish out ?
