Flyers Daily with Jason Myrtetus 7-2-2025

Flyers Daily with Jason Myrtetus: NHL Free Agency kicked off yesterday with the Flyers signing 5 players. We breakdown the deals and how they will impact the team this season and possibly beyond. Plus a special nod to Bob McKenzie on a great 50 year run as the king of hockey reporters. We also touch on the Tyson Foerster injury and hear from Danny Briere in his Free Agency day media availability.

  1. Excited to see Dvorak, hope he can teach the bad faceoffers how to.

Tyfo will be back stronger 💪

  2. Yes Bob Mckenzie all the best in your new chapter of your life being such a big hockey fan when Bob talked always listened, great hockey mind very smart man 😊

  3. Very funny to go from talking about bob McKenzie and how great of a reporter he was without click baiting and then talking about the Tyson injury where Anthony SanFillipo baited the story for a week just to get the injury wrong. What a loser I hope the flyers stop partnering with the ONLY bad flyers podcast

  4. Sorry but have to disagree. The recent signing would appear to clog up the pipe line again. If we are going to struggle I would rather have it with the young guys than have journey men with no investment in the future

  5. I feel errison with this goalie coukd be good enough to get to 8th seed playoff spot

I realy feel michov will jump off to races for a 90 plus point season
I see forestor hiting 30 goals and being 60 points
I just see everyone having improved season
I see tk not hitting that wall hits 80 points

I see errison now staying healthy with this new goalie maybe hits 27 win mark and backup hitting 16 wins as they basically split the load

  6. I am very optimistic about the new free agents and signings.

Two D – they know what they’re getting. Two big, physical, shut down D men not expected to get Points. Bodies on the line. Show up to play. Andre isn’t ready and York might be on his way out unfortunately, and if not Risto is still out months.

Vladar is a solid goalie with better GAA and SV% than all three of our current goalies. This is a good fit. He’ll get to start. Has to prove himself. Good pickup. Great contract. Anything around $3m is an average salary for NHL league average stats.

Dvorak is an upgrade from Poehling and a good replacement for Poehling and Laughton and they’re ALL on 1 year deals I’m good with the audition phase for these new guys.

I Will be VERY interested to see how Nedeljkovoc will end his season with the sharks. He was one of my lower options for goalies to go get, but seeing him go to SJS for a 2028 3rd round pick was mind blowing. He only had one year left on his deal at 2.5m

    Last seasons stats

    Nedeljkovic – 3.12GAA & .894SV% with 14-15-5 record and 1 SO (2.5mx1y)

    Vladar – 2.8 GAA & .898 SV% with a 12-11-6 record and 2 SO (3.35mX2y)

I really hope Darth Vladar comes away with better stats!!!

I WAS SO GLAD to see Gibson and Demko off the board early!!!

  7. I am glad to see short term contracts, finally. Gearing up for next offseason, it seems. They paid a premium for each signing but the market dictated these prices factoring in the new salary cap. All the best, Jason!

  8. Michkov shabonov TK line maybe zegras/tippett on pp drysdale on the backend flyers could be loaded martone steps in n shines lfg

  9. They punted. Its tough. Another year of living for next year. Resemble more of a team but couldn't find that multi year piece this year

  10. I dont care about Dvorak because its a 1 year deal but I dont like Vladar. The Flyers need to be a bottom 5 team to get a top C in the draft. Adding a competent backup goalie hurts that Zegras is not likely a #1C, he is not going to carry a team to a Stanley Cup. On a Cup winning team at his best he is a 2nd C. Now is not the right time to improve the team, not unless there is a deal in place to get Rossi too. Even then we probably need a #1D as well.

This team is not done being bad. At best we will go through the Giroux Era again with nothing to show for it. Michkov being the new Giroux. Wasting his prime on a mediocre team.
