To be fair, the Hawks are literally selling theirs on "you don't mess with a classic."
As an old geezer traditionalist I love it of course, but I'm not buying anything with advertising on it.
My Blackhawks winter classic Jersey, one of my top 6 jerseys. I like this one “of course” but I kinda just want the centennial patch. So I’m gonna wait for the alternate and see if I’ll by that.

i wish the Centennial Jersey was Black styled like the Home the gold would have looked better on a Black .them using the same color for the Centennial Jersey i don't mind that i am with you they should have changed it up maybe even made last years outdoor jersey the Centennial Jersey and just add gold to it would have been good too .
Will the away have the same new features? That gold outline on the main crest would look sick on white – will grab one if they do

I wonder if they had made the black or white stripes at the bottom of their jersey gold in addition to the gold outlining on the logo/numbers, if you would have liked it more?

I totally agree with everything you said! When I played hockey as a kid, our team had essentially the Blackhawks logo/jersey, so this look has a special place in my heart. But c’mon, for one year, your centennial no less, do something SPECIAL! There is no reason to buy these unless you are a hardcore collector. Even the recent Winter Classic was more creative than this re-heated leftover slop.

I do really like the blackhawks jersey, its super clean. That being said this centennial jersey is very disappointing. Feels like bare minimum effort. As a Boston fan i am a bit biased but i feel that boston did one of the best centennial jerseys.
I only own 1 blackhawks jersey, their winter classic fron earlier this year, so there is a chance i buy this jersey (but only after i add those boston jerseys first)
I also like when teams add laces for a retro look. But here it's weird, when the collar is as red as on this one. It makes the laces look like they're just floating randomly on the jersey.
yea….just leave the Hawks jersey alone! Its an iconic sweater…..remember when the Iles did that change to the fish stick shirt???? DISASTER! Iles went back to the original design…fans happy again. Some thing you just don't screw around with….
