  1. moving rust at the deadline makes more sense. And toronto has no talent left in their system… I can't see them moving Danford or Easton Cower. Maybe trade him at the beginning of the season if they're winning too much. And they don't have a first and i wouldn't want that first because its going to be after 20. So Toronto is NOT interesting

  2. Darius, Dubas has said that for him to trade Rust the return would have to such that he couldn't trade him. So basically, Rust isn't going anywhere. He's a true Penguin, and being that he can do what others can't and that is teach the young guys coming up what a Penguin means. That value is over and beyond 30+ goals, only 5$ mill for 2 more years, playing PP & PK, etc. I would guess it would take something like a 1st in 2026, an NHL ready highly touted prospect, and maybe another pick 3rd/4th or prospect.

  3. Everybody is so gung ho to trade Rakell and Rust, but who does that leave Crosby to play with among the 2nd chancers and young guys? And if Dubas really does have a hope/plan to be competitive again soon, wouldn't the Pens benefit by having 2 talented players/scorers, one of whom should have a letter on his sweater, who WANT to be here and are willing to ride it out to the other side? Unless you're getting a younger/cheaper version of either Rust or Rakell in return or willing to let Crosby become the only real talent on the team in a year or so, I don't get it.

  4. You said it, he sets the example of hard work. He worked hard to get on the top line, and he deserves it. Rust is a Pens favorite, and years from now when you mention the cup years, his name will be talked about.

  5. rust scores big goals and goals in the playoffs ! the average fan doesnt know how good rust is because he plays on a team with crosby, malkin, rackell
