So they have 4 guys eating up $50mil or so, and 2 of them are defensive liabilities. There's hope for Bouchard, he can still learn to defend properly, but nurse is a dud, he's as good as he'll ever get, NOT Stanley cup material. If they could trade him and acquire a decent starting goaltender, they might have a chance, otherwise…….
Bowman ditched the highest goal scorer in the playoffs. I believe he had 18 goals during the regular season? Perry worked his butt off even against the Panthers. What did McWimp and those other overpaid bums Crysaitl , Bouchard and Nurse accomplish 🤔 Its the Oilers way. Throw the underpaid hard working performers under the bus. Manicure and massage the overpaid overrated proven LOSERS more money. The Oilers will never win the Stanley Cup with Knoblauch and Bowman.
They've become the new toronto…can't spend almost half the cap on 4 guys then wonder why the first 2 lines are so burned out theres nothing left for the SCF For the next 3 to 5 years its going to be "This is our year" garbage, we'll waste what time McDavid has left all because the GM hasn't learned that the "Core 4" model that toronto championed just doesn't work. What does work is you need 2 to 4 guys on the team that are rats/goons/pests but have the skill to play top 6 minutes in a power forward type of role. Florida figured it out and thats why they're looking at a potential Dynasty.

Stan Bowman should give a call to Ken Holland offer him take this duel Mcdavid + Nurse. if Ken accept the offers. The Oilers saved at least 25.25M. Use the money to sign a super goaltender and sign more good defense guys, good forwards and good centres. I don't believe without Mcdavid the Oilers can't win the cup. Why so worried Mcdavid is leaving the team?
