  1. " Danielson and ASP are not ready for the nhl " i completely disagree, and if this is the case I would be worried.
If a top prospect isnt pushing for an NHL job 2 years from being drafted they are either A. Still under contract in the KHL or B. Simply put a bust.
i can understand ASP needing a bit more time being that he needs to adapt to the north American game and small ice.
Danielson on the other hand has had 2 straight quality camps/preseasons already and i expect his season to be similar to kasper last year.
If Danielson does not spend the majority of 25'26 in Detroit, that is a cause for concern in his development imo.

  2. I think hes done well building a young core. But mostly put old crap around them. Fre agency has been a bust. I'd like to say trade some youth for a proven but the team still isn't at that point. Ehlers was the final hope in free agency. Gone. So this year is praying the youth takes 2 steps forward. Or it'll be an absolute shit year again.

  3. Lots of criticism of Yzerman but I’d argue this team on paper should have made playoffs last couple years. You can put talent on the ice but when you have players disappearing for long stretches of the season, nothing the GM can do. GM doesn’t control how consistent the players are, the accountability falls in that locker room just as much if not more than on GM. Look at Larkin end of season talk, he said no one coming in at deadline killed morale, while he simultaneously was absent the end stretch when needed most

  4. Ive said since the signings of copp compher ect all the contracts fans hate, "Steve does not see this team being a competitor until these contracts are up" he fills the roster waiting for youth to make the push. Im ok, takes a while but you are seeing cap space and guys knocking. Have faith, take a breath.

  5. Yzerman, in his presser, practically told you that there was going to be a trade in the next two or three weeks. Before you go off the deep end, wait until all of the moves are made.

  6. Holy fuck you intense monkeys,
Short term reaction after short term reaction.
Stop yelling! It turns decent, wholesome people away

  7. Red Wings have been a playoff team for the last 3 years. Coaching is everything, Lalonde is a greater teacher of systems, but the wrong leader. Hope McLellan is better. The talent is there, the leadership needs to be there. It's more than just players.

Think about it. Good on PP, average goaltending, average D, great at 5 on 5. Horrible Pk is hopefully addressed. That is a huge difference already.

  8. I don’t agree with McCarty often but really, what else do you want Yzerman to do? No one is leaving Florida, Marner wasn’t coming here. He made an offer for Dobson, and I’m sure other D men. This is not a prime destination. Do people want him to make ridiculous offers?

  9. Yzerman is here for life. Ill hold him accountable for building one of the best young cores in the league without any top 3 picks. Kids arent even here yet. Team is 90% turned over in 2 years. Tank for McKenna

  10. THE PLAYERS POLICE THEMSELVES!!! FOR VETERANS THAT COME TO DETROIT, ITS EITHER SEMI RETIREMENT OR ITS OVER. YOUNG GUYS DEVELOP AND GET SHIPPED OFF.

  11. He's pick n a fight with the whole state of Michigan he needs to stand down and nock off the hate he has

  12. Yzerman is doing just fine, he's not magic. He's drafted well, that's what matters the most and what we can fully control.

  13. Nice to see that D Mac has finally woken up,, he may have walked into a mess,,get over it..Look at the Canadiens, They were a sh!t hole, they had Price and Weber under BIG contracts, as well as other issues,, He gave Wallman ,not for a 1st rounder, NO he gave a 2nd !! He could have taken a swing at Ziegras, they do need some goals,,and lets not talk about the D Men he signed,, Gustafson,, Pietry Woll, ,,thats a lot of BAD cash thrown out the window,, So he got lucky with Christian retiring, Terrasnko traded,, Did he even take a swing at Dobson,, I say start taking a look at rookies and evaluate,,if they don't work out,, maybe we get a chance at # 1 next year,,one of the best prospects since Mcdavid !!!

  14. The yserplan is working, He is building through the draft. We have often complained he was letting the prospects stay too long in GR. However, he has drafted seven forwards and three defensemen on this team and there's more on the way, soon -THAT'S GOOD. His shortcoming is the way he has filled the roster with over priced, unproductive, veterans that block roster spots hindering more of these ripening prospects to advance. Let's not be so quick to throw Stevey under the bus.

  15. Playing Patrick Kane on the third line would NOT be a very smart move. His 21 goals are double that of any other player on the third or forth line. Splitting up Kane and DeBrinkat would be a bad move.

  16. Everyone talks about the young core like they’re solidified. We have no idea what bear, danielson, MBN, ASP, and even Marco kasper who only scored 30 points this year, who struggled in Grand Rapids. Edvinsons a good player but realistically he’s a Niko Mikkola who we will probably overpay.

Not to mention Yzerman has only made the playoffs 6/14 years he’s been a Gm. He’s only been out of the first round 4 times. Tampa won back to back and went to 3 straight 2 years after he left not while he was there.

I’m not saying Stevie is doing a bad job but we can’t act like he’s done anything great either. Seider and Raymond were good picks but they were almost top 5 picks (Seider #6) it’s a lot easier to hit on a guy at the top of the draft. Larkins almost 30 btw. Watch Stevie will trade him at the in a few years and get 1st back cause he’s 32

  17. The Berggren take is ass. A purely offensive guy on checking lines makes zero sense. Detroit has always sucked at developing fringe guys: “Do the little things (aka defensive hockey first) and the offense will come”. lol. Nope. That’s not how it always works. Some dudes can’t fit that 2-way mold – Berggy is that dude. Let him focus on offense with some 2 way guys and he’ll flourish. He’ll never flourish in a checking line – he’s a midget out there.

  18. zadina the guy who signed a 2 yr contract in the swiss league now because nobody wanted him or signed him last season is a great example of the last of ken hollands draft picks but Steve yzerman needs to be fired for rebuilding basically both teams from scratch; gtfoh with all the bullshit! 🤪🤷‍♂️🤭🤡💩😫🫤🤷‍♂️been following this team since mickey redmond was still playing out on the ice with the team before he retired in 1976 due to back injuries! atleast were not Toronto thats gone 58 yrs without a Stanley cup with all them overpriced guys they’ve had on their roster! 🤭🤷‍♂️🫤👍

  19. Make whatever excuses you want for him, other GMs are making things happen, with lower draft picks too. Yzerman is too risk adverse, fans are tired AF of saying "we'll be good in a couple years"

  20. McCarty's never gonna say anything negative about his buddy Yzerman. The media here is so far up Yzerman's butt they can't see anything. It doesn't take 10 years to fix Holland's mess. Let's talk about Yzerman the Detroit GM, not Yzerman the Detroit player or TB GM

  21. My trust started to waver with the Jake Walman trade. Its hot seat year for sure. Grew up an 80s kid so I lived through the good and bad years. Loved Yzerman as a player. But we need to see more as a GM.

  22. It is ludicrous and irrelevant, that Z jersey be removed. What I do believe despite not watching all his moves since leaving the country, but that he needs be either demoted or let go. New perspective, new energy, and apparently more creativity.

  23. The fact this is even a conversation is hilarious. Yzerman isn't going anywhere nor does he deserve to. I'm of the thinking that yes, he's not perfect, but he's done a hell of alot more good for this franchise in 6 years after inheriting a dumpster fire than he's done bad. You simply cannot argue this team has gotten better year after year aside from the "HUGE" 5 point dip this past year. A few short term stop gap free agent signings isn't the mantra. The mantra is building through the draft, which he has done an exceptional job at.

The best part about the "me want ring now" mob is that there's nothing you can do about it. He's staying, Myself and many others are glad for it. Unless you guys want to be like Buffalo – firing and hiring a new GM every 3 years and wondering why things aren't working.

I've yet to see a valid argument as to why he should be canned. Just emotional responses without and critical thinking skills attached.

  24. Trade Debrincat while his value is high and have another yr of term. This team DESPERATELY needs a power forward. Stevie needs to do a hockey trade. Debrincat 1:1 for an Alex Tuch type. You simply aren’t going anywhere with 3 of the same softer, undersized wingers in your top 6. The team rode an unsustainable PP last yr to be close to a PO bubble team. If your goal is playoff hockey, you have to build a team that can play playoff hockey.

Not to mention the absolute failure in getting a 2C with the signings of Copp and Compher. ALOT is riding on Kasper becoming the next Zetterberg. Fire the entire pro scout staff, unless it’s been Stevie who’s went against them, but no reason to believe that. Wings pro scouting dept has been a complete and utter failure for the last few yrs now.

  25. How does this guy know Danelson is not ready for the nhl he had a better ahl season last year than kasper while playing with worse players

  26. Heres the thing, Yzerman will be here. In 2 or 3 years when all these kids are starting to get serious play time and showing growth and development, and yhe wings start winning, I want everyone to eat all of the crow
