The Blues waiving Nick Leddy is really no surprise–he was hurt most of last season,and the Blues can definitely use the cap space.
Karlson's not a good fit for Ottawa, especially after what happened last time here.
Absolutely no need to retain salary on Rust or Rakell. Karlsson absolutely.

Let me correct you Mike. The Penguins just paid Karlsson his 5 million dollar bonus, which mean the actual dollars of his last two years are around 11 million. The Penguins will want a good return for any bonus paid down.
As for as Rakell and Rust go. Rakell had Career highs in goals (35) and points (70). Rusts had career highs in goals (31) and points 65 and can play literally in any situation on lines 1-4, power play and penalty kill.
Rakell's cap hit is I believe a 5.3 million and Rist's cap hit is 5 million even.
In this economy? The Darth of goal scoring with the price of goal scoring going up due to cap rapidly going up?
Those are ridiculously bargain contracts. Yes even at 33 and 32 years old respectively.
You're insane if you think the Penguins are retaining money on the Rakell and Rust contracts.

Great video as always buddy, love the Karlsson idea but the retention from the Penguins needs to be huge for the Sens to look at a trade with them. Still need another top six forward in my opinion but with Karlsson offensive abilities is he a hybrid option for the Sens? Bridges the gap between the two positions and will be an interesting option for the Sens if a trade was possible to materialise between the two.

Hell NO!!’ Don’t need or want Karlson. Been there done that.
The only way Buffalo does not match an Offersheet is if the compensation is 2 first round picks, a 2nd and 3rd round pick or 4 first round picks. Or if a team like Chicago or Sharks do an offersheet that is a 1st 2nd and a 3rd because their 1st round picks will be high next year. I do not see a team that is very likely to have a top 10 or top 5 1st round pick next year offersheeting Byram.
So it would be better for the Agent to tell the teams to up their offer to what Buffalo wants. So it STL wants Byram they need to put Neighbours or Holloway on the table. Buffalo is not taking picks and Prospects.
Buffalo has control for 2 years here. Sure he can get offersheets both times or for a 2 year deal. But the Sabres want something of value coming back that they can use right now.
I think the Senators are setting themselves up to trade G Linus Ullmark to Edmonton because Leevi Merilainen is ready and actually had a better record than the two starters when he got the call up last year. Cheers from Ottawa🍁

Florida had so many guys have career yrs last yr no way I thought they'd win back to back.Just so many talented players..Especially Rinehart coming from Buffalo..Nvr expected him being anything two yrs…He came from Buffalo that's enough a reason, nothing good can come from anywhere in NY…You need stars in this league to win the cup..Edmonton wins with 2 players..Florida just has it going on right now..Vegas will be there each yr and they will win another cup. Always injuries with that team always..Getting Marner is a steal and moves Stone, to 2nd line as he isn't a top scorer..They have so many options they're starting now to remind me of Florida..Dorofeyev was a 4th, 5th rd pick I think and now he's a 30 goal scorer. Eichel- Barbashev, Karlsson, Hertl, Kolesar finally developed an offensive game last season. Their 3rd and 4th lines are tough. Reilly, Saad, Howden, interchangeable parts with the D being good each season and parting with Pietrangelo at the perfect time..He's always injured too. Id like to thank him for being unable to play the next 2 seasons as he collects disability for around 8 mill a season, poor guy, like their injured goalie, bi-polar man, the past 2 seasons finally off the books for doing nothing but taking up space. I can't mention his name I hate the guy…
