  1. This is a horrible trade for the blues just horrible as a blues fan I’d like to congratulate canadiens fans on this gift

  2. Montreal just traded for another Patrick Laine-type player in Bolduc. I guess the third line is his ceiling in Montreal.
While the Blues got a potential top 4 D-man who's inexpensive and 22 with a potent shot. Dropping Leddy is for Tyler Tucker to play every night on the third pairing with Faulk.
BTW, Carbonneau will be going to college to play and hopefully dominate ALA Snuggerud.

  3. One thing you need to watch out for with Mailloux is taking a lot of really bad penalties because his buttons are easy to push. He needs to mature on that side and take less retaliation penalties.

  4. Josh Gosse, something none of you touched on in this episode is the fact that Bolduc had the very BEST shot on the Blues. I follow Jamie Rivers (Former Blue, long time NHLR), and he would state, over and over again, that during practice, the one guy that just kills the goalies is Bolduc with his wrister. Jamie has said this for over a year and now Montreal is having this shot on their team. I would love to hear from all of you after a few months of the season about his shot. I like the trade (hated losing him), but RHD"s don't grow on trees….

I'm a montreal fan I follow Josh personally >>> I love Mailloux he will be helping your team and will be incredibly good on your power play but he needs good coaching for 6 months and he will give what you guys need around the end of this season or for sure beginning of next season }}}}} he is around 6 months behind Bolduc in experience but don't worry you guys got a good, fast, smart natural power play game maker.

  6. Mailloux 's offense is bery good for defenseman.
    He is physical too.
His 2 negatives in Montreal were his defensive play, and Habs defensive depth, especially the right side.

  7. The idea of moving a winger for young, high upside right shot defenseman was correct move by army. Issue was bolduc has proven it at nhl level so we should of received more honestly. And I'd rather have moved Neighbours, although bolducs hockey sense wasn't good either and i dont where people are getting he's good defensively at, bc thats not his game, at least yet and he was completely exposed in playoffs, cost us a lot actually. But hes fast, physical and has wicked shot.

  8. Bolduc in playoffs was a disaster, one assist in seven games, 17 pim, 5 turnovers and that was generous and two of those penalities were behind play while we were on pp. Think that has a little to do with keeping neighbors over him. And his hockey IQ/playmaking were far behind his shooting. Still should of gotten more but just my two cents

  9. Blues won that trade. Mailloux will be a solid, possibly great, 2nd-pairing NHL d-man for a decade. Bolduc will be a career bottom six forward, interchangeble with dozens of similar players. As a Habs fan I hope I'm wrong.

  10. Mailoux is big, he has a cannon of a shot. He reminds me of Sheldon Souray. But the problem is he is awful defensively. He just can't figure it out. They asked him to focus in his defensive game and he did, his offence went down as a result, but his gains in defence were really minor. He had a lot of work to do

  11. The Canadians need to trade Laine. I'm not sure what they are doing. They need to give Bolduc his spot on the second line and just give Laine away for nothing.

  12. Losing Bolduc simply hurts because he was someone you could expect to actually get pucks on net and gave a legit threat whenever on ice. Nervous the team will revert back to 2 & 3 seasons ago with a complete lack of ability to score or offer any consistent threat.

  13. I was a big fan of Mailloux, sad to see him go. Yeah, he makes mistakes, but he is big and powerful, fast, has an elite wrister and slapper, good first pass. His defense was problematic but I think he can be sheltered on a third pairing and 1st PP wave in the NHL. The way he glides the blue line for a shooting lane is something, the way he moves around seamlessly, a great young offensive defensman St-Louis got there.

Gotta give up to get, I hope Bolduc is worth it, but I think long term Mailloux could be a top pairing D if he can learn to position and read plays better in the defensive zone.

  14. I personally saw this as a sell high on Mailloux. His offensive skill is undeniable but he looks like a chicken with his head cut off defensively. So many position errors and misplays. Can he play top 4? Maybe. He definitely needs extremely sheltered minutes. He will get absolutely exposed by offensively skilled forwards from the other team. If he can fix these mental mistakes, he has the potential to play top 2. I don’t see this happening. Pretty sure he’ll end up a frustrating player who shows you amazing offensive stints followed by a multitude of defensive blunders. The blunders will eventually be his demise. Here’s hoping I’m wrong because I really want him to succeed.

  15. Bolduc was the blues 2nd best passer right behind Thomas. Bolduc was just getting warmed up for the blues. He's a future star for sure. So bad trade. Logan can help the blues but I wouldn't have traded Bolduc for him.
