Edmonton Oilers News | Zach Hyman DONE | Jeff Skinner IN? | Connor Brown
welcome back everyone my name is Patrick you’re watching the Oilers rundown well we got to enjoy a big four to one victory in game four last night a three games to one series lead on the Dallas Stars but unfortunately it can’t be all positives zack Heyman had to leave last night’s game didn’t look good we found out this morning that definitely it’s an upper body injury we think possibly a wrist or a shoulder but head coach Chris Knobblock did not specify but he did say that Zack Heyman was having surgery today and will miss the remainder of the season for the Edmonton Oilers here’s another look at the hit from last night it’s just one of those plays i mean he might have been targeting Zack Heyman a bit we’ll never know for sure but either way the Oilers have officially lost Zack Heyman for the rest of the Stanley Cup playoffs oilers insider Bob Stoffer posted this following the Zack Heyman news obviously losing Zack Heyman is a significant loss based on the third period last night it could be a top six opportunity for Evander Kane to see more minutes kane has four goals six assists 10 points in 14 playoff games averaging 16 minutes 11 seconds time on ice with 63 hits and that’s obviously going to be key we know Zack Heyman was hitting everything left right and center we know how important Zack Heyman is to this team so this is definitely a massive loss but I imagine Zack Heyman will remain around the team be in the locker room as much as he can so hopefully that impact off the ice can still help the Edmonton Oilers here the rest of the way i was mentioning in my Fanatic rundown last night that this might be a great opportunity for Jeff Skinner to get back into the lineup zack Heyman is a topline player and Jeff Skinner I think has produced his best in a top six role for the Edmonton Oilers so we’ll see what happens there head coach Chris Knobblock didn’t give any specific answer or even bring up Jeff Skinner in his media availability today so we’ll have to find out and see what the lineups look like in practice tomorrow for the Oilers ahead of game five tomorrow night at 6:00 p.m back in Dallas but I think Jeff Skinner is a good bet to be coming into the lineup for the Edmonton Oilers chris Knobblock also gave an update on Connor Brown will not be in for game five but he is expected back shortly thereafter so if the Oilers do make the Stanley Cup finals and they’re in a fantastic place to do so but nothing is done until it’s done we should see Connor Brown back for the Stanley Cup finals so that’s great to hear connor Brown has been one of the Oilers best playoff performers to this point and especially after losing Zack Heyman connor Brown who’s kind of a Zack Heyman light would be great to add back into the lineup so we’ll see what happens tomorrow guys whether Jeff Skinner does indeed come in for the Edmonton Oilers but that’s basically the latest in oil country the Oilers flying today so not too much other news coming down the pipe other than the Zack Heyman and Connor Brown updates i haven’t really talked about him a lot but Ryan Nan Hopkins he has just been absolutely on fire lately wanted to give him a quick shout out obviously Stuart Skinner I’ve been definitely been giving Stuart Skinner his praise as you guys know he’s just been amazing so far and the Oilers have really had the killer instinct in games where they can close out a series so hopefully they can do that in game five tomorrow night like I said at 6:00 p.m back in Dallas and we’ll see what happens with the Florida Panthers and Carolina Hurricanes tonight panthers up three games to one as well so it looks like a possible rematch with the Panthers in the Stanley Cup finals but both teams only up three games to one so nothing is officially set just yet i think that’s all for me for now guys let me know your thoughts on Zack Heyman do you think Jeff Skinner comes in to replace him in the lineup what do you think about Evander Keane getting more minutes do you think that will help alleviate the loss of Zack Heyman you can never really replace him but the Oilers have to find a way to do it by committee here let me know your thoughts in the comments section below if this is your first visit to the channel and you like what you see please consider liking and subscribing for all the latest Oilers content you’ve been watching the Oilers Fanatic thanks for being a fan [Music]

Free Jeff Skinner
Did oilers practice today? Any word on the lines?
Losing Zach Hyman is devastating. He'll be missed for the remainder of the playoffs. Love Hyman. He's 100% all-in every shift, every game and a factor every time he's on the ice. I certainly wish him well in his recovery. This sucks hard, because Hyman absolutely deserves to be playing in the final for the work he puts in game-in, game-out. I hope the surgery doesn't impair him from hoisting the cup. I'm sure his teammates will be there to help him if it does. I hope Jeff Skinner draws in to help out.
With Hyman being out for the rest of the remainder of the playoffs unfortunately, then pathetic dirty cheap shot Marchment should definitely b suspended for tomorrow night's game!!!!
No way Oilers can win the Stanley Cup without Zach Hyman.
Geez i hope so!!! Jeff Skinner is a good hockey player i dont understand why hes a healthy scratch. He doesn't even play bad, or do something stupid. They just stop playing him. Out scoreshalf the team with the little ice that he gets.
What's Knoblauch's problem with Jeff Skinner?
With Hyman out, Sķinner should skate tomorrow night.
Might be other issue's between the two of them.
ICH WÜNSCHE HAYMEN ALLES ALLES GUTE LG.AUS KLAGENFURT AM WÖRTHERSEE AUSTRIA.GO OILERS GO HOLT EUCH DEN POKAL ICH WERDE JEDES SPIEL FÜR EUCH DIE DAUMEN HATEN.❤❤❤
While Zach Hyman cannot be specifically replaced by another player that exactly replicates his game, this does not necessarily mean that the Oilers' offensive game will suffer. After all, when injuries occur, one of the mottos of this team has always been "next man up" and you can be absolutely certain that the replacement and all of his team mates will do everything they possibly can to bring Lord Stanley's Cup back to Edmonton.
With Conner Brown also out, pretty sure Arvie and J Skinner will probably be in the lineup. I don’t think we see Derek Ryan although his faceoffs might be good since they were so bad at it. It would be great to see Jeff Skinner come in and score the GWG to send the oilers to the Stanley cup final. Ekholm possibly coming back might be a 7 defenseman run also.
Is there any possibility Zach Hyman gets a position somewhere on the oilers bench just for moral support and encouragement.
When the Oilers win and they hand McDavid the cup, he needs to directly skate over to Hyman and let him hoist it 🌟
Dont matter oilers have a lot of talents
Patrick, here's a question for you: what is more important, solid defense or Zach Hyman? I would have to say solid defense, as much as I like Hyman. Hyman has not been scoring as much all year, including the playoffs. Yes, he has a playoff high 111 hits but his offence is down. They are dominant at home, regardless of who plays with either McDavid or Draisaitl. The Oilers defense is so strong right now the Panthers will have their hands full, I guarantee it. Plus, Skinner with 3 shutouts tied with Bobrovsky of Panthers? Wow, who would have guessed that? Plus, only Frederic (even) and J. Skinner (minus-2) are the only NON pluses in plus/minus on the Oilers in the playoffs. This isn't the same Oilers team as last year. They are much stronger than last year in many ways.
I would suggest Noah Philp would be best to draw in. Very aware defensively, big, strong, and good in faceoffs.
Brown Hyman and Henrique have been very solid.
Stop jumping to conclusion he might come back now. Jeff Skinner was actually an elite player until he did the mistake that all players don’t realize it which is playing for the Buffalo Sabres put a curse on your career. It’s just been shown time and time again, but can the Oilers decontaminate his curse and he could suddenly rise up again as one of the greats
hard to understand why knobs chose rv over j skin – it must be defensive responsibility. But rv is all wheels – no finish. We see playoff janmark and playoff bouchard and playoff brown – think we should take a look at playoff j skin…
I want revenge. Marchment left his feet to get any piece of hyman he could get. REVENGE PLEASE!!!
A wrist.
Why is everyone forgetting that Hyman had only played 3 minutes of the game and we still won 4=1. It is a devastating blow to the team but we were still successful with him injured. All teams go through injuries. We have the depth and if anything another reason to work even harder.
I never gave up on Skinner like many did.. He is Top notch.. Thanks for update..
Hyman is a key player on Oiler's, I hope they can repair him for next year !!!!.. One of my Top Fav player's for sure.. Not only good player, great attitude..
Great opportunity for J Skinner. Hope he makes the best of it!
Get well Hyman. Ekholm is apparently back for tonight’s game.
Keep raggin on Jeff, hope he gets a trick tonight you fart heads hes the trik up youre sleeve great player whats the problem
