  1. Shannon you didn't mention a key fact. Vegas has no state tax! So while $12 million there, most other American teams have a state tax, so Marner would have asked for more! $12 million US is $16~ million CND. No way Leafs could have paid just $12 million. This needs to be mentioned/talked about more that Teams with no state tax have an advantage.

  2. K'Andre Miller, I've watched him dodge contact for 5 seasons, meaning he skates thru 5 or 6 consecutive games without getting hit a single time. That should be impossible in a contact sport, esp on D. Never seen him go into the corner for a contested puck a single time in that span. All his poor decisions and "mistakes" make perfect sense when you realize what he's doing, he's avoiding getting hit. The bigger the game (playoffs) the more obvious his priority shows. That's just disqualifying to me.

Does he have potential? Yes, he's huge and a freakish athlete. He can take a 3 min shift and skate to the bench barely even breathing heavy. If someone can correct this, he could have a Norris every year. Maybe CAR can fix that, then that contract will look amazing, otherwise this will be painful for CAR fans.

  3. We all know that every D getting out off NYR and every forward getting out of TOR will have a great season😅

  4. Watching McCrimmon talk today at the press conference, he is a really focused and smart GM. I love how he talks about each and every player whether they are coming in or on the way out. He has a vision and he’s great and putting a team together for that purpose. Go Knights Go!

  5. What made me move on from the Canes is the no accountability culture they have, it is easily worse than the leafs. Their front office can't do any wrong, their coach can't be a weak offensive coach, their top 6 can't be improved significantly.

It is all Rah Rah, celebrating after every season win with a storm surge, getting swept in the third round when it matters and a chucky cheese family atmosphere at an arena that charges $20 for parking and it is getting more expensive. They can't sign or trade offensive talent from anywhere and guess what they call that? A genius move from GMET, how do you figure that? 😆

They're a bad team to be handed, low ceiling due to it's mismanagement, and I have more fun pulling against them now than I did pulling for them.

  6. When I tried to figure out Florida, it went like this, luck – Forsling, smart choices/talent assessment – about 4-5 guys, so I kudos to mgmt, but the biggest factor IMO, is Paul Maurice! So when fans complain, it's like they don't think about ALL the factors, teammates, coach, style etc. I wonder why the view even with all the stats and video etc is so shallow? Do fans play hockey? Is it the flimsy nature of digital info not being physical, so it processes w/o emotion and doesn't make ya fat? Anyway, I hear you about the complaints, maybe fans don't get the satisfaction of winning so they're disgruntled and growling at the money because it's pointless – 93 million bucks, no playoffs! Thanks, all hail Abbotsford!

  7. K’Andre Miller will never be a good player. He has size and speed however his hockey IQ is 0 – watching him pass to the wrong laundry year after year is frustrating. The guy is a natural winger and doesn’t know where to be or who his responsibility is in the D zone. He never comes out of the corner with the puck if he’s battling he plain sucks

  8. There were definitely some contracts handed out that there puzzling. On the other hand, there were not as many as I thought there would be and it was an overall boring day.

  9. That's a terrible look on both sides with DiGiuseppe: Charlotte fans booing him as part of the Canucks after cheering him for all the years he played in Charlotte as part of the Carolina organization (I believe the year the Checkers won the Calder Cup was his first full time NHL season), and he responding with gestures to the home fans that cheered and revered him. Just not a good situation all around. Happy he won a cup in the AHL though.

  10. I'm sorry but you cant pay Marner, a winger the same as two centers who score 50+ goals and a another center who is over 100 points per season. He is a talented player but you cant do it. Not to mention his playoff stats are piss poor. 12 is a lot for that imo. We will see if he changes that narrative with Vegas.

  11. The Capitals are doing the same thing as the Calgary Flames. A few Capitals fans are upset that we're letting Alexeyev, Mangiapane, Eller, and Raddysh go. But for the most part, Capitals fans are happy that Leonard, Miroshnichenko, Sourdif, and Cristall are getting opportunities. And they've chosen to go with Chisholm instead of Alexeyev for the 7th defenseman, but the Capitals fans aren't quite as onboard with that decision.

I think it's good when teams don't sign any free agents at all and open up spots for young players, and I'm glad that Calgary and Washington both did that.

  12. 12:30 one 🧔🏻‍♂️ removes car parts while another 🧔🏻‍♂️watches and a 👩‍🦳 plays with her 🥤.

  13. The Marner 7 vs 8 year thing makes sense. Make 1.7 mil less per season but make 12 million in that final year. If he was a free agent in that 8th year he makes nowhere close to 12, being 36-37.

  14. People insist that mid 30s is too old for the NHL then they say 35 year old Pietrangelo is faking an injury.

  15. As a Wild fan, and a big Marco Rossi fan, I think GMBG is being smart and also cheap. I don't think Marco should get like a Boldy deal (7×$7M), but I think a bridge deal even at $7M (i.e. 2×$7M) wouldn't kill us. I think Billy should've kept his mouth shut about matching any offer sheet though and just waited for it to happen and then matched it.
