  1. Silovs for a 4th or 5th is fair value as he was. 6th rounder and winning the Calder just bumps his return but no team will give us more as we know he won’t make the team and needs waivers so get the pick as next year is a better draft

  2. Cayden Primeau was the best goalie in the entire AHL this regular season and he went for a 7th…So a 5th or 4th is pretty solid considering.

  3. Silovs nhl stint in 24/25 was marred, like the rest of the team. Can't blame him. Getting a fourth or a fifth is pointless, wasn't he higher than that when he was drafted? I would find it super hard to believe that Silovs, along with anyone else, would struggle in front of the d they have now.

  4. Don’t squander Silovs for basically nothing 4 or 5th pick is nothing, wait on Demko, I doubt he’s going to be a horse all rear, Canucks might just need him to back up! wait for trade deadline, teams will be looking for goalies.

  5. Unproven NHL goalies are not valued . He had nice little playoff run for the Canucks and flipped in the regular season

  6. Keep him in the ahl at that point. Why trade him now for a 4th or a 5th? Nice to have a goalie that can continue to build his value.

  7. Arty is being shopped to see if he has any trade value (still need that 2C). As has been mentioned he has very little value and much less than he is worth. Like i mentioned last year, he has had no NHL experience and really needs to establish himself as a back up firs and work his way up. I knew he was going to faulter because his skill level wasn't quite there yet. Demko and Silovs are two rare goal tenders that have an extra gear come high stakes games. You have seen that in the world championships, NHL playoffs, and now AHL champion. Arty still needs to work on his game to be a regular NHL back up and then work his way up. I think he has the talent but he needs to develop a lot more to get there. He will always be a money player as the say, but to be a Stanley Cup champ he has a lot of work to do. I have faith in him but he has a lot of work to do. Arty will be in Abby next year and when Demko disinegrates from poor nutrician they will call Arty up and he will get his chance to see if has improved over last year and can handle the back up job. Management are delusional that Demko and Petey and Cheeto for that matter will stay healthy and be available to make this team competitive enough to make the playoffs. I am pulling for Arty when he gets his chance to be the back up in the show. He has improved since last year and i think he may be able to pull it off.

  8. Nothing to do with owing him something. They aren't going to get much for a guy that other teams know has to clear waivers. And winning a Calder Cup doesn't prove a damn thing re: being able to play well in the NHL. He's still a big risk.

  9. Are people in the comments dumb? We can’t keep him because he has to clear waivers, but most likely won’t. Either risk sending him down or trade him for at least something

  10. If I recall, Hutton only began to shine when Benning took over and basically gave everyone in the prospect pipeline a fresh chance to stand out. He was on no one's radar before then. Hutton took the opportunity and ran with it. Just about the only Gillis draft prospect to overachieve, which isn't saying much. Of course, you'd be hard pressed to get the anti-Benning derangement wackos to admit that.
