  1. In the PP1 and PP2 section at 10:46, we both blanked on (I think we're just so used to not having him healthy… Whoops). Jesse replaces Matheson with Dach. Josh replaces Gallagher or Newhook

  2. Ditch Laine, when you can. No value at 8.5 million. His body is breaking down. Injured players are anchors….that need to be tossed when the opportunity allows it. Plus shitty work ethic.

  3. Was never a bring Liane to Montreal guy, I'd say hin and dach are both on thin ice to perform and NOT get injured. If they both can perform at regular strength then with demi that line should compete for points with line 1.

  4. Hear me out! What about putting Demidov at the center position! He has played that position in the MHL and even a little in the KHL! That could solve our 2nd line center, and you would have Bolduc and Laine as his wingers! Think about it. Demidov will have 2 great weapons on his wing to utilize. A right-handed blast from the left wing and a left-handed shot from the right wing.

With Demidov's playmaking ability, he can feed them and create space for them. You would put that line as much as possible in the O zone because I would see that line struggle defensively. And for faceoffs, Bolduc has also played center and could take faceoff on his strong side.

It would also put Dach in a better position to shine with less pressure as a 3/4th line D. Our forward line-up would look something like this:

    Caufield-Suzuki-Slafkovsky
    Laine-Demidov-Bolduc
    Gallagher-Evans-Anderson
    Newhook-Dach-Kapanen

    Thoughts ? 🤔

  5. people are getting like what have you done for me now attitude, he was a key part of the playoff run plus isn't his contract up after this year… if he not better by then they can just let him go… people need to netflix and chill haha

  6. We made the playoffs last season with the youngest team to ever make the post season. We just got younger but somehow better? This really is a dream come true for Habs fans. The Armada play about 15 minutes away, I should go see some games this year. Without Laine we did not make the playoffs last season so I am willing to see what he brings up till the Christmas break. Then decide if it is trade or extend if he is willing to take a 3rd line salary. Having Caulfield and Laine on the same PP is wrong. The second PP gets enough chances to let Laine play on that line this year. Bolduc has a wicked shot from the bumper position and good hands at cleaning up rebounds. Put him in the bumper position on PP2 and Laine in his office and that gives 2 options for anyone coming out of the corner with the puck. Keep the faith and Go Habs Go!

  7. Laine was one of the reasons we made the playoffs, let's give him a chance, I believe he competes more this year,he's abig body who can score, 8and a half million he needs to be on the second line

  8. The problem with Laine is that he could be really good or really bad. You just never know what to expect. That is related to his mental depression that both him and his wife have. It must not be easy to live with them or play with him. Not trying to be mean, it's just the truth.

  9. Without Laine we would not have made the playoffs. People who expect him to be some defensive specialist are nuts. He is a top 5 sniper in the NHL. You cannot replace what he brings to the team.

  10. I won’t waste my time talking about what Laine does wrong or poorly. This is old news, we all knew what we were getting, when he came here. I agree with the few other people in that he has played too little, to get a full picture. But i will say this. It is absolutely ridiculous to me that so many are saying he shouldn’t be on our pp1. He was 4th last year in ppg’s with 20 to 30 games less than the guys ahead of him. He had 15ppg of montreals total 47 ppgs. Thats a third of our ppg’s. He Absolutely delivered on what we knew he could do. And that was after missing how much hockey??? Put him on pp1 end of story. It’s crazy to me so many are not willing to give him a full season. We got him for nothing and we probably couldn’t get anything other than picks. May as well let him play and see what he can do.

  11. Anyone who thinks they should move Laine now clearly has no brains in their head. He's going into a contract year and will be motivated to have a big year. He was an important player for Montreal, They don't make the playoffs without him. First 30 games without him they had a .450 winning percentage, The 52 games with him they went 36-14-2 and he scored 20 goals in just 52 games and that's while missing training camp, missing the first 30 games of the season, No 2nd line center and spent those 52 games playing with 3rd and 4th line forwards and still scored at a 30 goal pace

  12. Strange when talk of the Habs moving Roy a certain segment of the media ramps up its attacks on another non chez-nous member of the Canadiens' or maybe just a coincidence?

  13. If Montreal can get a number 2 center for him I'm all in. That does not seem possible though. He should come into camp healthy and should be a good player this season. Health is a big question mark.

  14. I don't know if Laine will be around long-term, and how well can his two way play be sufficient to be not a liability on the ice? Also, when he did play a little in the playoffs, the line he was on produced the most turnovers and he's not a physical player. Mind you Buffalo is a nobody team currently and he has shown bad lulls as well. Remember that last 3 weeks of the regular season.

  15. The Habs forwards are so soft as a group. Anderson is the only one with size and toughness. Gallagher is tough but doesn’t intimidate anyone. How can they possibly win the playoffs with this group?

  16. Laine doesn't like the idea of having reduced minutes on a 3rd line. Sucks to be him. Like Marty says, you want more minutes, earn them by playing the right way.

  17. I like laine but i dont like his effort sometimes. we need the right linemates for laine which we dont have right now. but you know kent it cooking something up

  18. Laine needs to be in pp1 maybe even in pp2 also. Also usually he goes to finland at summer but now he is staying in montreal to train.

  19. If Laine is good to go, that does make our second line good. Dach, Demidov, Laine. There’s some potential there for sure. But I do think Demidov is more dangerous on the power play than Laine. He’s not one dimensional. That being said I love Laine and want him to do great things for this team and stay if he’s healthy and playing well. Possibly shift Caufield to left and put Dobson on PP1. I want to see Hutson and Dobson together. PP would be a good way to do so, if they aren’t going to start together.

  20. not ridiculous at all to get him out just before the beginning of the season, he is a bad influence on the ice …lazy work ethic and you don't want that around your young players…take advantage that people feel the opposite about this topic…those are the teams that will be interested in him! let him be a bad influence and a ''MONSTER'' like you say elsewhere!!

  21. The Laine defenders need to give their head a shake. NHL talent with a Bantam commitment to winning.

  22. Steve Dangle is a a hyperbolic dolt that talks to us as if we are a second grade reading class. If Laine were not on the team, the Habs would not have gotten to the post season…He was the one that woke them from the dead last December. End of discussion, Dangle, beat it geek.
